The world collapsed in front of her eyes when she saw the look on everyone's faces when the officer cuffed her. She met her parents glance when the officers frogmarched her out the hall.

The panelists hissed in pity casually crossing her name off the list. Both her mum and dad raced after her.

"That's my child!" Her mum halted the officer descending down the staircase outside the entrance.

"I'm sorry miss," He said. "but I'm afraid your daughter is in possession of illegal money."

He gestured another officer standing in attention beside his cruiser. Their gaze fell open a slim leather suitcase placed on the nose of a tesla police cruiser. He popped open the lock to reveal a large sum of greens lying bare in the suitcase.

"The money in the suitcase is legal tender." He reported.

Cindy did not meet her parent's gaze.

"Honey?" Mom's voice trembled, tears flooded her eyes. Dad looked disappointed. Cindy bit her lower lip trembling with fear. She passed by on-lookers whom she once knew directly or indirectly as friends watch her being shoved toward the Black Maria parked outside the premises.

Her eyes widened when she saw the one man leaning against a patrol vehicle. "Miss me?" Dabi released a plume of smoke from the reefer pinched in his right hand. A crooked smile tugged at his lips

"You!" Cindy barked fighting the officer's grip. Her parents' eyes met his.

"Hey look, Cindy's folk!" Dabi cheerily waved to her parents. Her dad walked in between his wife and the villain, puffing out his chest.

"What do the villains have to do with all of this?" Her dad barked.

"Oh, I'm Cindy's buddy, just thought I'd say hi." Dabi ruffled his hair. The officer rudely shoved her into the car when she tried to reach for her parents.

"My daughter is the wiser not to hang around villains" Dad's voice was stern and firm trying to assert power over Dabi.

"I'm an honest friend who cares deeply for Cindy. I'd hate to lie." Dabi sunk his hand into his pocket and produced a stash of polaroid photos.

"Don't!" Cindy barked.

He handed a few photos to Mum and a few other to Dad.

"Oh see, this one is my favorite." He pointed to the one photo Dad held. Their eyes grew wide.

"I'm sure, this would make you two highly appreciative of her right?" He smiled, plucking the photos from their grip. Dad approached the car, toward Cindy. Tears welled up in her eyes. She felt a sharp sting on her cheek when his hand flew across her face.

"Your mum and I have nothing to say to you." He avoided eye contact and turned to her terrified mother.

"No, wait! I was set up!" Cindy forced open the door of the car with her elbow, stumbling when her heels met the ground. Dabi grabbed her slender arm and shook his head.

"Watch them go," he said in a calm and firm tone. "They all leave eventually when it is most convenient for them."

"Let me go!" Cindy screeched on top her lungs, fighting with all her strength against his grip. When her voice did not stir her family to glance back at her, she dropped to her knees. Tears welled up in her eyes blurring her vision, watching her family recede away.
