Discord Gang Adventures: The Tale of Fear

Chapter 3: House Fire

The group sat outside, Elly was resting in her bed still, direwolf folk like to sleep alot of course. They looked at the house, thinking of ways to protect her and keep whatever monster away from her. But they knew they wouldn't be able to stop him from showing up.

As they quietly talked over it, a woosh came and they quickly got up. The house was a-blaze, and she was still inside it as the flames grew bigger.

James morphed into his demon form, he rushed into the house, calling for her as the Gang looked for the attacker and called for the fire department. He opened her room door, she was cowering in a corner, terrified as the house was falling apart around her.

There was fear in her eyes, great fear. He called to her, "Elly! Move! Come on you have to get out of here!" Yet she didn't respond, only stood in fear as the flames grew closer. James saw her arm was burnt badly, he knew she wouldn't move on her own.

He grabbed her and dove out of the building, wrapping her in his wings he landed on his back with a thump and the house erupted in flames. Raven brought the paramedics over to her, they took her to the ambulance and inspected her as Raven talked to James.

Bitzen called the two over as the others had gathered around her too. They looked as Bitzen plucked a tuff of fur from some thorn bushes. She handed it to James, "Any idea who left this behind?" He looked at it, seeing how it seemed to be from a black creature with red stripes, "I think he's the one responsible. You all know who I'm talking about right?"

They nodded some as the paramedics came over, explaining she should probably go to the doctor to have her arm cared for. Other than that they said she was fine, they were thanked as some officers came over to them.

"We were told this house caught on fire, we'd like to know the reason." One of the officers said, looking around at the group with a bit of concern. James lifted up the fur tuff, "Someone evil, and I think I know who. But I suggest you keep out of it, I don't think he'll be too kind to anyone hunting him down. Just keep an eye out for any more of this fur understand?"

They didn't believe him, asking why they shouldn't investigate. James walked up to him, "Because... He's nothing to be messed with. But he hurt my friend, and your not getting involved with that.. are you?"

The Gang stood with him, they were angry and that was enough to intimate the officers into agreement.

~the next day~

They sat in the Gang's bus-like van, heading out to the middle of nowhere, far into the great ancient woods of Vorhigh. "Are you sure this place is safe? It doesn't look safe for her to be this far into the forest."

Raven cuddled her half sister closer, "It's safe, trust me. Somewhere he wouldn't dare to step foot into."
