A Few Years Later
Billie's POV:
Looking back at the past few years I'm proud of what Green Day, and all of us really, have accomplished. We've released some albums, and toured a lot. We always brought the girls with us, and I could say that we've had some pretty wild times. I could also say that Tré and Alice were going steady. They were always saying lovey dovey shit, and making me want to puke. This might have something to do with the fact that I was still single. I'd had a few flings with some girls I met on tour and stuff, but they were nothing more than someone to fuck. Janie was the same way, I feel like the older she got the more she whored around. I was kind of nervous for her, although she was eating again, she had gotten herself into some other things. It wasn't abnormal to catch her lying around drunk or even high. Alice is convinced that I'm in love with her, I just think that we have a really good friendship. It's not like I want to marry her, I just don't want to get rid of her. I just...care. It was the beginning of March and the month was going to be pretty busy. We had a tour planned in April, we were headlining along side Alice's favorite band Blink 182, which required a decent amount of preparation. Also Janie's birthday was that day, and I wanted to do something special for her. I was gathering some decorations for Janie's surprise party when I got a call from Alice, "Hey Jane just left if you want to come over and set up!" She said excitedly. They had gotten a house together a few years back, and though they were constantly bickering, they were good roommates. I hopped in the car and drove over their house. It was around three in the afternoon and Janie would be back at six. When I walked inside, Alice was in the kitchen baking a cake and singing at the top of her lungs. "HEY MOM THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE BACK ROOM HOPE ITS NOT THE CREATURES FROM ABOVE!" She continued, occasionally replacing the lyrics with something like, "I THINK TRÉ COOL IS REALLY SEXY!!!" I laughed and she turned around embarrassed. "Smells delicious!" I said taking in the sweet scent. "Thank you! It's Jane's favorite, red velvet!" I smiled, typical Janie she wasn't chocolate or vanilla, she was different like red velvet. She's definitely not related to "Plain Jane" because she's anything but. I started putting up streamers and a happy birthday banner, eager to celebrate with my best friends.
Jane's POV:
My alarm clock rang, I groaned and rolled over. It was then that I realized that I never closed the curtains the night before, light was flooding in through the windows that were open just a crack. I loved to fall asleep a little chilly. I forced my eyes open, which slowly developed a headache. I groaned again, what a way to start my birthday. I sort of fell out of bed and walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. Alice was already up making pancakes. "Morning!" She said while smiling her beautiful smile. "Yup." I grumbled. I sat down at the table and she placed a plate stacked with three pancakes in front of me. "Thank you Licey." I said giving her a tired smile. "Jane I told you that I do not appreciate having a nickname referencing a small wingless parasite that has haunted young girls lives for just about ever." I laughed waking up a bit and smiled. "Well I appreciate the pancakes thank you..... Alice." I laughed again, and began to eat my pancakes. I spent the morning on the couch listening to Physical Graffiti. It was around two fourty-five when Alice started complain about how she desperately needed to go to the grocery store, but had to clean the house first. Before I could tell her that I'd rather clean, she forced a list in my hand and shoved me out the door, leaving me on the steps still in my pajamas. I just rolled my eyes muttered "Fuck it." And got in my car.
Alice's POV:
I had just called Billie telling him Jane had left and he could come over to set up for her birthday. I was in the middle of making her cake and singing some blink 182 and maybe replacing a few of the lyrics with "TRÉ COOL IS REALLY SEXAAY!" When Billie came in our house without knocking. Great he heard me singing. I started blushing, I've known Billie forever but I still get embarrassed around him. "Smells delicious!" Billie said. "Thank you! It's Jane's favorite, red velvet!" I said smiling. As I started icing the cake Billie started hanging up the decorations. "So how have you been doing?" Billie asked. "Uhhhh I'm really excited to be able to be going on tour with you guys again, and I've been doing great, how about you?" I asked. I finished decorating the cake and was helping Billie. " I've been doing good it's getting a bit stressful leading up to the tour but yeah I've been doing good." He said. I'm still convinced that Billie and Jane are in love. "Still not following your heart and loving Jane?" I asked. "Ok for the five billionth time I don't love Jane we are just good friends!" He yelled at me. "Yeah whatever and if it ever does happen Tré owes me 20 bucks." I answered. We finished setting up decorations when I told Billie I would be upstairs getting changed and he could start letting people in. We were inviting our close friends it would only be a small party because Jane would kill me if I invited over like 20 people. I finished changing and started doing my hair and makeup. When I heard someone murmur behind me, " You're so beautiful." I turned to see Tré standing in the doorway. "Thanks I really try." I said blushing. I walked over to him and gave him a kiss. "Now go downstairs I'll be out in like five minutes." I said. "Fine." Tré said. I finished my hair and walked downstairs knowing Jane would be here any minute. Everyone that I invited was here and we were ready for her to come home. Everyone quieted down once we heard her unlocking the door and we shut the lights off. She walked in the house and we all jumped up and screamed "SURPRISE!"
Jane's POV:
While at the grocery store I was able to conclude that Alice was a very annoying person. The list I was given was written like a scavenger hunt, and it took me FOREVER to complete my shopping. I spent about twenty minutes trying to figure out which laundry detergent to buy. "It's blue with a pink cap has a beach scene on it and smells like lavender..." I read aloud. After deciding that it didn't exist I checked out, and headed towards my car. It was a short ride home, and soon I was pulling into our driveway. I grabbed a few bags of groceries and walked up the steps. The house was dark. "Hey Licey! Could you give me a..." All of a sudden the lights flicked on and I heard a few people shout "SURPRISE!" I jumped back, and let out a terrified scream. "I FUCKING HATE YOU ALL!!!" I yelled, half laughing. "Happy birthday Janie!" Billie yelled, and gave me a big bear hug. I smiled while snuggling into him, he smelled yummy, and I was still in my pjs. Go figure. The guys brought in the rest of the groceries, while I changed. I put on a pair of ripped jeans and a plaid shirt that I barely bothered to button. Then I put on my signature heels and walked downstairs. "How the hell do you wear those things al the time?" Alice asked. "Beauty hurts." I told her smiling. We spent most of the party eating cake, pizza and drinking. I blasted all my favorite records and we even played truth or dare. It was getting late and Mike and his girlfriend went home. Alice and I were in the kitchen cleaning up, and Billie and Tré were fucking around in the living room. "Thanks Licey, I had fun." I said looking up from the dish in my hand and over to her. "Billie did most of it." She said shrugging, "I just made the cake. "Well the cake was delicious." I smiled and put the last dish away. She yawned and stretched. "I think I'm going to bed." I'll admit she looked exhausted. "Don't let Tré in your room, I don't need a niece or nephew." I told her using my best authoritative voice. "Whatever you say birthday girl." She said and walked out of the kitchen. I followed her out of the kitchen, and sat down on the couch next to Billie, while Alice and Tré disappeared upstairs. "Did you have a good birthday?" He asked me. "Well the grocery store sucked." I said and he half smiled half frowned. "Besides that, I had a lovely birthday." This time he was definitely smiling. "Good." He said. We were just kind of staring at each other for a moment. I really didn't want to look away, I loved his eyes. He looked down for a second. I wanted to kiss him so bad, I felt like I had to do it. I had to kiss him, so I leaned in. He seemed a little nervous, which I found very cute. His eyes snapped shut, and I brushed my lips against his, teasing him. He took in a sharp breath, I smirked, I had him right where I wanted him. I pulled away, he opened his eyes confused and hurt, that's when I crashed my lips against his. I climbed on top of his lap and kissed him passionately. I kissed him fast and hard, I bit his lip and stuck my tongue in his mouth. That wasn't the best part though, that wasn't it at all, the best part was that he kissed me back.
