"Hey Dabi, I'm back!" I yelled as I entered the same old yet cozy apartment. I've lived with Dabi for two and a half years now, they were the best years of my life. In those two years I got a job throwing newspapers at the front doors of the red zone in Japan. Nobody wanted it even though the pay was pretty good, so I decided to take it and help out with our living expenses. I still haven't fully explained my whole life story to Dabi but he never pressures me to do so which I'm grateful for. In two years only once did I remove his headphones from my head. I got a brand new pair that were Bluetooth and allowed me to manipulate the volume by moving the rolly thing on the right side of the headphones. They help a lot especially when I'm practicing my quirk with Dabi at night. I only ever sleep a few minutes every night, not because I was originally insomniac, even though now I am, but because every night I would have to dream about nightmares that others or I have and it's not fun. Dabi and I have gotten closer and he has helped me learn the ways of society and also helps me with my schooling. I guess you can say I'm home schooled by Dabi but not really. When he helps it's mostly him burning up the books that I get from the Library because we both feel like idiots when we can't solve a problem.
"So did that creepy guy try to incinerate you again?" Dabi asked with amusement in his tone. Ever since I got my newspaper job, every time I go to a certain address, the dude living there tries to incinerate me and for what. Just because I hit him in the back of his head that is covered by his messy blue hair he's been out to get me. I usually just put up my shadow before he can touch me. He can't disintegrate a shadow so I'm never really concerned for my safety. He said something about him being in a villain club or whatever but I never pay attention to what he says, he's cute I'll give him that, if he only showed his face more often instead of covering it up with a bunch of hands. I guess that's his aesthetic though, good for him. Still he's offered me a position in his little club but I usually deny and he starts attacking me again until I'm throwing newspapers to other houses. I've felt his negative emotions and let's just say most villains have a rough childhood and we were never saved by those heroes. I know not all heroes are alike but I hate it when society believes all heroes are truly heroes. But that's a topic for another day.
"I didn't see him this time, I was kinda enjoying his antics, they were amusing. Oh well, also I have some news." I said with a bit excitement in the end.
"Well what is it doll face~" He said with a smirk as I playfully rolled my eyes. For two years he's grown into a bit of a flirt but he's amusing. He flirts a lot but I know he doesn't mean it, not me trying to be insecure or anything, but he's seen at least half of the real me and no one would ever like someone like me.
"I've decided to join the famous Heroes school! But I need to sign up for a normal junior high school first-" I was rudely cut off by him quickly.
"Why the hell would you do something so stupid!" Dabi exclaimed after rudely interrupting me.
"Well if you wouldn't have interrupted me so rudely I would have told you before that I need to figure out what makes heroes so corrupted. I'm friends with you for crying out loud and I know society views you as a villain cause ya, you kill people but you also gave me a home and freedom, while the heroes burnt anyone I knew and locked me up for years. I need to know why society is the way it is and the only way I can learn how a hero works is to train to be a hero as well." I stated firmly, Dabi only knows bits of my past, anything before turning ten he doesn't know but he understands that I don't like to talk about it. He could only stare at me trying to contemplate his next words.
"Are you sure about this?" He asked after a while to which I only responded with a short yet firm nod.
"I know a guy who can get you a spot at a junior high, I think the next semester is coming around so you can fit in without much trouble and then you can sign up for UA. I'll talk with him, he owes me and it's time to pay up. I'll be back in a few." Dabi said as he started getting his jacket. I could only smile gratefully as I quickly hugged him from the front. I was a bit shorter than him but my arms quickly found his waist and pulled him in tighter as I heard Dabi sigh.
