Every girl has for once in her life dreamt about being a princess . At some time and fashion even I dreamt about my once upon a time to happily ever after fairy tale .
Who said my dreams are just meant to be dreams ?
So here I am . Princess Aranya Trikam Singh from Vaishi Valley , Udaipur . Like every other royal family , mine too is a dysfunctional one . Two uncles one of who cheated my father in mortgaging our own ancestral palace , which was meant to be converted into a hotel for which my father had been saving funds for years . This was his sole dream which got crushed by his own blood . How ironic !
And my aunt who practically lives to humiliate my mother for not being from a royal lineage , not that my father cared anyway because according to him the first time he saw her , he knew that they were it forever , but still she is the daughter of one the biggest diamond merchant in western India , Raiprakash Malhotra , so come on woman cut her some slack .
Then there is my mother . Calling her a warrior would be a better endearment because from starting up her own fashion designing company to going through my aunt's humiliation , adjusting in the royal household , having a kid at just twenty four and raising me alone while her husband had to be out of India for business to making her company's brand name global , she is incredible and probably the best mother I could ask for and oh yes , she is Padma Trikam Singh , the best wedding dress designer all over Asia .
And then there is me . Twenty two year old , majored in hotel management , interning at TKS group of hotels and soon to be engaged .
Currently sitting at the edge of my window in my hotel room at six in the evening , I am facing the gigantic Aravali hill range covered with masses of basil and teal green acacia arabica trees running down it's entire length . The orange and slight crimson billows perfectly engulf the peak in their arms as the sun is all set to hide in the lengths of darkness and I would have been enthralled by the beauty in front of me if my brain had not declared a temporary shutdown right now .
Shut down because we still did not get any clue on the person we are trying to find since six months . I sigh and type Danny a message .
A: What about the CCTV Operator then? Any lead about him ?
D: I just need some more time . Will inform you soon .
Danny is my cousin and if he wouldn't have been one I would have fallen in love with him . Trust me along with a sweet tooth that guy has the sweetest tongue . He is a talker and a charmer . With a 6'1 lean frame , raven black curly hair which cover all his forehead and a heart shaped face , he might be the cutest person you could come across . Along with this cuteness , he has this manly raspy voice which makes him the perfect boy next door . Along with looks the man got brains. With a brain like a computer , the guy is an software engineer with a diploma course and a PhD in ethical hacking .
I switch my phone off and tuck it inside my jean shorts' back pocket and get down from the edge . Straightening my clothes , I pick up my sling bag , my glares and grip the handle of my suitcase . Taking a deep breath I start walking towards the front door .
With one last look at my biege coloured hotel room which is where I am staying during my internship , I lock the door after removing the key card .
After depositing my key card at the reception and quick goodbye to my colleagues , I walk towards the underground parking of the hotel .
The elevator door chimes marking the arrival of my destination . Walking straight I glance at the man standing in front of me .
A sleek black beemer is parked right in front , leaning against it in all his glory is my fiance , Veer Pratap Singh , the prince of Rajgarh and the heir to the TKS group of hotels , typing furiously on his phone with his usual guarded expression .
I clear my throat to grab his attention , he looks back from his phone in my direction and his expression softens .
"Hi". He says softly tucking his phone back in his navy blue coat .
"Hi." I say with a small smile on face .
"Tired ?" He says while taking my luggage from my hand and starts walking towards the trunk of the car .
Despite being very tired , I never forget to ogle his sexy back as his muscles flex while fixing my heavy suitcase in the trunk.
"A little . I had a long day .""You should stop working yourself out . Take it slow sweetheart ." He says while still adjusting my suitcase and my stomach does a flip on his endearment . Everytime he says this , it's like the first time all over again . My cheeks go crimson red . Heat spreads all over my face and the stupid smile gets plastered on my face .
" Now , now says the person who practically rubs his butt off while working ." I say with a smirk and high five myself for my solid comeback .
"Rubs his butt off ? What are you five ? I stopped saying that when I was a kid ! The word is ass baby ." He says with a wink and grins which turns into a full blown laugh looking at my flustered expression .
"Ew , gross ." I say trying to keep a straight face but the smile on his face makes me smile .
The warmth in my heart and the peace in my mind seeing him smile tells me how much he really means to me because it is not an everyday scenario seeing him smile , it took me five weeks to crack him .
Veer returned to India from England six months ago upon being called up by his dad to take over his business and to finally settle down and start a family . His parents are the Rana saa and Rani saa of Rajgarh. ( Rana saa and Rani saa - King , Queen ) .
Therefore he is not only the heir to his family business but also to the Rajgarh throne .
He lost his twin brother , Yuvraj, four years ago . Ever since then , he is not himself .
I accidentally met him a few days after his return because of a small accident and ever since then there was no going back from my side .
After four long miserable years , I had a chance to start a new life . One with hope , beliefs and happiness , one in which I will have someone by my side to keep me strong .People might think I am living this 'perfect' life with my 'perfect' family but my life is anything but perfect .
Guess what, I am a princess but this tale is far from a fairytale romance . Here the princess is trying to get the pieces of her life together while the prince is grieving the loss of his loved one .
Love story isn't necessarily true for prince and princesses because here their life was shattered by their own loved ones .Because in this tale , the prince does not love his princess . Because in this tale , the princess didn't even knew who her prince was . Because in this tale , they were set for an arranged marriage .
During my childhood, my dad would read me fairytales every night . Ever since then I had this dream of finding my prince , making him fall in love with me , bearing his children and living happily ever after in some old age home holding his hand and finally let go when death strives but one night changed my entire conception about life .
The night of 10th July changed my life along with many other lives. The night left me broken to a extent from where I was far from repairable .
The night I lost my father . The night I turned eighteen and became an adult .
Welcome to the world of adults and to the world of royals who are in a chaos . Welcome to my life . Welcome to the life of a fallen princess ..........❤️.........
Xoxo , until next time ;)
