A few weeks later
I laid in my bed and put my legs against the wall. Kuro called me and I slowly answered "What?" I mumbled and he giggled on the other line "Stop." He said under his breath. I closed my eyes and listened to him. "Kuroo!! You're blushing!" Someone yelled in the background and I felt maple crawl onto my stomach.
"What do you want Kuro?" He was quiet "Do you want to go out sometime?" I squinted my eyes at the ceiling and picked the phone off my ear. "Did you mean to call me?" I threw my head down on the bed and pet Maple. "Yeah, will you go out with me?"
I tapped my foot on the wall. "What's that supposed to mean?" There was whispering coming from the phone. "Nevermind, it was just a joke, I have to hang up." I thought about it for a second. "Kuro." I said and he hummed softly "I'll go." He was quiet and I heard beeps. I took the phone away and that idiot hung up on me.
Kuros pov:
I sat in my friends dorm and Kaoru looked up. "Let's play a game." I nodded mindlessly and he wrote a few things down. "Whoever's name I pick had to call the most recent person in their phone and ask them on a date." I smiled and Mei sat down beside me. "No family though." Mei added and I nodded softly.
He put multiples of each of our names and he picked a name out. He giggled and help it up. "Kuroo~" he cooed and I picked my phone up. I clicked on the recents and my face felt warm. I looked up. "Second recent." Mei grabbed my phone and she gasped. "You were on call with him until 3 in the morning!" I jumped in her and reached for my phone "He had trouble falling asleep!"
Kaoru watched us, extremely confused and she clicked on the button. I freaked out and went to hang up. "What?" He said in a monotone voice and my eyes widened. "I hate you." I whispered and she smiled warmly. "Kuro! You're blushing!" Kaoru yelled and I almost smacked him. I put the phone up my ear and held the base of my legs firmly. "Do you want to go out sometime?"
I bit my tongue and glared at both of them "I hate you." I mouthed and Mei blew me a kiss. I looked away "did you mean to call me?" I tasted a faint metal taste and realized my tongue was bleeding "Yeah." I covered my face. "Nevermind it was just a joke, I have to go." I was about to hang up "Kuro....I'll go." I froze and stared at his name at the top of the screen. I hung up and smiled softly.
Mei watched me. "Wow." She half smiled and I grabbed my things. "I hate both of you." I was about to leave "I love you too!" Mei yelled and I shut the door after me. My heart raced and I felt all finicky. And for some reason I couldn't wipe this stupid smile off my face.
Kenmas POV:
The weekend and I drove down to the college. I walked inside and knocked on kuros door. I let myself in and he was sitting beside Mei. They both stopped talking and turned to me. I took my jacket off and slipped off my shoes. "Hey." I mumbled and coco walked over to me. I bent down and picked her up.
I walked over and looked down at him. "What are you guys talking about?" Coco nuzzled her face into my neck and smiled softly. She purred and I closed my eyes. "I should go." Mei said softly and got up. I looked at Kuro and kept an eye on him. "Did you really ask me on a date?" I said, letting coco onto the bed. I smiled and put my hands in my pockets.
He turned pink and smiled warmly. "It was just some stupid game my friends made me do." He defended and I flicked his head. He held his forehead and looked up at me "I told you not to make friends with people other than me." I joked and he laughed nervously. "Sorry." I picked up his keys. "Get me something to eat, I'm hungry." I walked towards the door and he walked after me "Okay." He chimed.
A few minutes later
We walked down the street and the sun started to set. I opened the door to a shop and we sat down to eat. I ordered a plate of meat and looked up at Kuro "You cut your hair." I pointed and he smiled softly. "I thought it was getting too long." He mumbled and I cooked a slice of beef. My hair fell in my eyes and I realized my hair tie fell out.
Kuro leaned across the table and I pushed his chest "Are you stupid? You're going to burn yourself." I tied my hair back and he watched me tentatively. I glared at him and placed a few pieces of broccoli on his plate. "Hey give me the good stuff." He stole meat off my plate and my mouth dropped open. "I can't believe you just did that." I said sarcastically and he happily ate it.
We finished eating and I walked outside. I huddled in my jacket and looked back at Kuro. We walked back towards the campus and my nose was pink from the cold air. The top of my nose was freezing and my fingers were cool to the touch. Kuro grabbed my hand and I looked back at him. He turned me around and put a gentle hand on my waist. I looked at him and rubbed my nose. "What are you doing? It's cold. Let's go back."
He looked down at me and turned bright red. "Youre right. I'm sorry." He looked away from me. He started back to the dorm and I paused for a second. What the hell was that?
I caught up to him and cross my arms. "No, Kenma." He mumbled to himself and looked down at me. His nose was all pink like mine and I giggled. I closed my eyes and rubbed my face, trying to warm it up. His hand slid onto my cheek and I looked back at him. His hand felt warm and he leaned down. "Can I?" He asked and I gulped. "Kuro, what are you doing?"
I pressed on his chest lightly. He glanced up and looked in my eyes. "Can I kiss you?" My mouth stayed open slightly and I watched him. His warm breath hit my face and I closed my eyes. I felt a warm pressure on my lips and in the moment I wanted to push away.
He held my back securely and he felt all warm up against me. My hair fell in my face and he pulled away, leaving short pecks before standing up and walking towards the dorms. I wiped my mouth and stood in the middle of the sidewalk. I was stunned.
