Tong Nian seemed to take the concept of Dutch courage as some sort of personal challenge.

It was something of a conundrum for her dearly beloved husband. Some people were able to hold their drink. Unfortunately for Han Shangyan, his little wife was most definitely not one of said people. In fact, the woman was a notorious lightweight; Gun God knew from experience that a single can of light beer was enough to leave her reeling and only semi-coherent. Adorable and annoying in equal measure. Little Squid was an overly affectionate drunk and once she had had a few, she also seemed to have more hands and arms than her proverbial namesake. Impossible to evade and unfairly tempting; nobody was aware of this more so than poor, harangued Han Shanyan.

The CTF prodigy had performed this song and dance several times before, and it was always increasingly difficult to resist Nian Nian's clumsy yet charming advances. He wasn't sure if he should be considered lucky or not, but as soon as inebriated, he became his wife's favourite target. Locked and loaded, she came at him with everything she had; it took every inch of the gentleman residing in Han Shangyan not to give her what she wanted. Gun wasn't complaining, per say, however, the girl did become something of a liability with a drink or two in her. Very...forward and more hands-on than he knew how to handle. Although usually a rather shy and demure soul, even the slightest whiff of alcohol was enough to make Nian Nian throw her inhibition to the wind. And her clothes along with it...

Han Shangyan honestly couldn't decide if he loved or hated it, to be entirely truthful.

The thought of Nian Nian tipsy and unsupervised was enough to give the the usually reserved K and K boss heart palpitations. And not always necessarily the good kind, either. Gun didn't like it when she was out of his line of sight; it made him feel jumpy and uncomfortable. Grunt and ilk liked to scoff at his Nian Nian-centric anxieties - since the wedding, he had somehow earned himself the moniker helicopter husband. Gun just couldn't help it. Of course the K and K hellions wouldn't be able to understand; they were not the ones married to a beautiful woman who was completely blind to the depth of her own appeal. Han Shangyan would rather pull his own teeth without anaesthetic over leaving his inebriated woman in the care of another. When it came to Tong Nian, Gun barely trusted himself, let alone any of the other miscreants.

The idea of her flashing her megawatt smile, however innocently, at any man other than himself was enough to stop his heart dead in his chest. Hence the reason a wearisome Gun found himself behind the wheel in the wee hours of the night, his extremely lovely and over excited wife firmly buckled into the passenger seat beside him and under strict orders to just behave herself. It wasn't like Han Shangyan could rely on a shoddy, unreputable taxi service to ferry her home safe and sound, was it? Gun would never allow it. He prided himself on his newly unlocked husband skills; instead, he had appointed himself as designated driver for each and every one of her night's out. It was the reason he had idled outside in his car for hours, eyes glued to his phone and anxiously awaiting her call.

Han Shangyan was only one permitted to pick up his tipsy Cinderella and the rest of the idiotic pumpkins.

Lord of CTF knew, the gruff big boss trusted his wife implicitly, but it didn't change the fact that she was an extraordinarily friendly drunk. His enchanting little genius didn't seem to realise how utterly tempting she was to members of the opposite sex. Her beauty made Gun's teeth itch and Nian Nian was so naive and trusting; he worried about leaving her alone and defenceless in a place like a club. It wasn't like Xiao Mi's fiancée, Yaya, was much better; the pair of them together were positive magnets for trouble, as enticing as two jars of fresh honey. The thought of leaving them to their own devices just didn't sit well with Gun at all; he knew Xiao Mi felt the same way, so it wasn't just him who was crazy! Love had made fools out of the pair of them!
