It was no secret that Han Shangyan had something of a sweet tooth. However, currently, it was an entirely different type of sugar the CTF legend was craving.
It had been a week, an extremely long and tiresome week since Han Shangyan had last seen his wife and he was feeling more than a little on edge. In fact, just like his namesake, he felt like he had one hand on the trigger; Gun was almost certain that he was but one strong wind away from being severely embarrassed. All he asked for was a quiet, simple life where he was able to do what he needed and yet, not a soul who lived with him was inclined to oblige his modest request. How tediously typical of the Han luck for him to be thwarted the second he walked through the door! A week was a disgustingly long time to be away from one's spouse, especially when they were newly married. A man had needs and agony did not even come close to encompassing the overwhelming urge that gripped him from head to toe. Worst part was, he couldn't do a damn thing about it...
Gun was suffering in a way he had never before experienced; he felt like it had been a lifetime since he had held his tiny woman in his arms and felt the lush ribbon of her lips burning against his. It had been one week since she had sighed his name in that breathless, honey soft voice he loved so much and pushed hair damp with exertion back from his forehead with the tenderest of caresses. It had been one week since he had felt her slender legs wrapped tightly around his waist and the heat of.... Gun shook his head furiously from side to side, biting his tongue in frustration as his thoughts took a decidedly lascivious turn. His teeth were already on edge, the last thing he needed was to douse his own flames in kerosene, especially when he was hamstringed by such a stroke of bad fortune. These goddamned kids of his never knew when to give him a break!
Gun's week had been particularly gruelling, mostly because he had sorely missed the woman who had embedded herself into the coding of his universe. Han Shangyan had been on standby for the last seven days, a feeling he was unaccustomed to. The former champion had been forced to travel to Beijing as part of a CTF training camp before the big finale in December; it had been last minute and uncharacteristically, he hadn't been prepared in the slightest. Su Cheng had always been more on the ball than he was in regards to admin based duties, which had left him on something of the back foot. For Han Shangyan, unpreparedness was akin to failure; he wasn't the type to show weakness and it had burned like acid in the pit of his stomach for the duration of the trip. Even his own team had known better than to push his buttons and yet, somehow, he still hadn't had a moment of peace. Sometimes fame came with the heftiest of price tags; for him, Zhou Shan, the official CTF reporter, was a thorn in his side that he could just not outrun.
The stupid woman really got under his skin in the worst of ways; every time he turned his head, there she was with her vacuous smile and her irritating voice. Shangyan, Shangyan, Shangyan. The woman's shrill tones really made him despise the sound of his own name - it was as though she was driving a drill directly into his eardrum. Zhou Shan claimed to be his biggest fan and yet, she had thrown him under the bus without so much as a second thought. The woman's head was so full of cotton wool he suspected that she thought she had been doing him a favour - didn't the idiot realise he didn't need her to hold his hand? He was Gun God, seasoned champion of the CTF circuit and if there was one thing he detested, it was surprise. It didn't matter to Zhou Shan that K and K hadn't been scheduled for the training until November at the very earliest as long as she got what she wanted. Gun had been livid when he discovered he had been pencilled in to fill the slot of the now debunk Team Buff upon her recommendation. Booking tickets, finding hotel rooms and corralling his Team One into the fighting spirit all took time he had not been gifted. The woman didn't have the brain she claimed she was born with!
Gun supposed he should have anticipated something of this ilk after rejecting Zhou Shan so publicly - to her, the word 'no' was simply nonexistent. It was entirely her modus operandi; she was always trying to invade K and K and as the Boss, he wasn't at liberty to tell her to go to hell. Not if he wanted to keep his job, in any case - he was a public figure and he had to set a good example. It was exceedingly hard; the woman had been hanging around him like a bad smell since he was twenty years old and unfortunately, she was as dense as a dolt. Gun had practically waved his wedding ring in her face, a precious amulet to ward off evil, and yet, still she continued to test his patience. Despite his complete and utter lack of interest, the reporter had tried her utmost to sink her claws into him like the gorgon she was; every rebuff was ignored and every cold dismissal was brushed aside as though he hadn't even spoken. All in all, it had been a trying week, but at least some good had come from the unwanted interaction - Gun had realised how absolutely, wholeheartedly grateful he was that Han Nian was his wife instead of her.
