Alec's POV

I woke up feeling really groggy. Maybe it's all the sleep deprivation finally sinking in.

Yeah that's most likely what it was.

"Hey buddy you up? We have to leave in ten minutes!" Jace yelled from outside the room.

I yelled back that I needed like five minutes because they knew it was going to take me less than that.

I was out of there in less than four minutes and ready to go. Not a personal record but I guess it's good enough.

"Wow someone's excited." Clary chuckled but that was just her trying to hide the fact that she was freaking out.

I feel like we were all kind of freaking out though. I mean we were trying to get him back but you never know what would happen if he did remember.

Like what if he wanted nothing to do with us, and he wanted to stay right where he was?

I would absolutely freak out if he said that. I mean in the end I would respect his decision and go home heartbroken, but I would still freak out once I knew that he couldn't hear me.

....

Once we got there I instantly started looking around for Stiles, but was instead ushered to the office by Jace. I tried to protest but Jace had a better reason.

"We have to get our schedules idiot." Okay that made sense.

....

My first class was Economics with someone named Coach Finstock.

As soon as I walked in my eyes were instantly drawn to Stiles. He looks the exact same as when he left. Except for the fact that his hair is definitely longer. If I'm being honest though the longer hair makes him sexier.

Just looking at him though takes me back to the day I lost him.

Flashback

Stiles and I were sitting in my room in silence. Neither of us were moving and neither of us were making a sound.

That was until Stiles looked at me with tears in his eyes.

"Alec...I wish this didn't have to happen." And with that he broke down. Instantly I wrapped my arms around him and just held him while he cried.

I was going to lose him. The one person that completely understood me. I was going to lose my other half, and it was killing me. But I had to be strong for Stiles because I understood why we had to do what we were doing. It was just a really hard thing to do.

"Stiles," he looked up at me," this isn't going to keep us apart. Look when it's safe I'll find you. I'll get your memories back. I'll find you Stiles I promise." He nodded through tears. This was hard for him you could tell. Even though this was his idea he probably didn't think that the council would take him up on his idea.

They thought it was amazing because if Valentine couldn't track him then he couldn't get to him.

The only thing is that Stiles would be vulnerable if Valentine were to find him.

Then all the sudden my mom walked in.

"Stiles honey it's time." Stiles was trying his best to be able to keep a brave face on, but you could tell he was terrified.

Even so he looked at me and said three words.

"I love you." Then he kissed me.

You could tell it was a kiss that was saying goodbye.

He didn't believe he would ever see me again.

"I love you too." Then he got up and followed my mother out of the room.

That was when I broke. My legs went numb and I fell to my knees in tears.

That's when Izzy and Jace decided to come in.

We hadn't met Clary yet, but she wasn't going to even know Stiles was her brother until later.

"Alec...I know it's hard but this is what had to be done you have to understand that." I nodded because I did understand that. Doesn't mean I had to agree with it.

"Can you guys just leave please?" They nodded and walked out leaving me in my depression.

Flashback ended

That's what ran through my head the minute I saw him. I couldn't help it.

Just seeing him again is driving me crazy. Not in a bad way. I just have this longing to be with him. With someone who doesn't even remember I exist.

Now that I'm thinking about it. How am I even supposed to get him to remember me? They did a pretty good job of erasing his memory if nothing has resurfaced after two years.

"Hello!" I snap out of my thoughts to see the teacher.

"Who are you?" Crap I forgot that I was a new kid.

"Alexander Lightwood." He checked his list and nodded as he motioned me to a seat towards the back of the classroom.

"I have two questions for you. One do you go by a nickname and two have you ever played lacrosse because you are fit." Okay so this was a teacher that was going to be like that. Honestly I like it. He doesn't seem mean. Just loud.

"Um I go by Alec and no I haven't played lacrosse before."

He wrote down the nickname preferance on his attendance sheet and went back to looking at me.

"Do you want to play lacrosse?" Well I mean playing a sport would get me more involved in this school. But this would also mean that I get less time to try and get Stiles memories back.

"When are tryouts?" The coach said something really loud but incomprehensible.

I think that he said something along the lines of Friday but I'm not sure. Like I said before. You can't understand it but it's loud.

"Incase you didn't hear him he said Thursday." I turned to see Stiles facing me.

"Thanks. I thought he said Friday so that would've been embarrassing."

"No problem. I guess I'll see you there or I could show you where to go when the day comes?" I was actually talking to him, and I wasn't freaking out.

This is what I call progress and staying calm, cool, and collected.

"Do you play?" He laughed quietly.

"Sometimes but usually I'm just a bench warmer."

We talked for the rest of the hour. I even learned that he goes by Stiles Stilinski now. Not Fairchild which makes sense. New identity you have to go all the way.

This was going to be easier than I thought.
