Alec's POV

I was on the floor before I could even process what was happening.

He continued punching me until some kid with a crooked jaw came and pulled him off.

"What did you do to me!" He screamed as he was dragged off of me by his friend.

That's when I saw it. The rune on his forearm. He must've known I was looking at it too because that made him even angrier.

"Yeah you see that! You did that to me!" He continued yelling as he was dragged out of the hallway all together.

Clary, Jace, and Izzy must've seen it too because they were in just about as much shock as I was.

People all around us were staring at me. Probably because I hadn't gotten off the floor yet after getting the crap beat out of me. Yeah, definitely time to get off the floor.

"He has the deflect rune. How did he get the deflect rune?" Izzy asked as she helped me up.

"I think his memories are coming back. I mean if he's starting to remember then things are going to start appearing. I figured this was going to happen so I snagged this before we left. "

Their jaws dropped at the sight of his stele.

"I thought that mom had that hidden away. You know, so nobody tried to come get his memories back." Izzy pointed out to all of us.

She's not wrong. Mom did have this under a lot of security, but not enough security to stop me from getting it.

"She did. Not very well," I said as I spun it around through my fingers,"now it's just a matter of getting it to him in a way that won't get me punched again."

That made Jace legitimately snort. Wow. I didn't think he thought that was funny.

"First of all, don't laugh. Second of all, He doesn't seem to trust any of you either so how are we going to do this?"

I looked to any of them for answers, but they all looked as clueless as I felt. We had to actually be able to come in contact with him in order to be able to get him his stele.

This whole thing doesn't make sense. They wiped his memories, and hid him to keep him safe from Valentine, but what if Valentine did find him? What is he supposed to do with no memories? Fight back with powers he doesn't know he has?

It was a stupid call, and Stiles was stupid to go along with it. And yes my parents were going to kill me once they figure out the stunt that I'm pulling, but I don't care at the moment.

All I want is the love of my life back, and even if he doesn't want to be like that anymore, then at least he'll still know everything.

He deserves to have his memories back, and he deserves to know the truth.

None of that should've been kept from him. They were defending themselves, not him.

They didn't want Valentine to come there looking for him, so they wiped his memories and sent him away.

"Maybe we could sneak it in his locker. I can easily get the attention of that new male secretary, and get his locker number." Izzy suggested with a wink towards the office secretary that paid no attention to her whatsoever.

"Yeah sure. Okay next idea."

"Well he doesn't know me yet," Jace commented,"and I'm not as rude as you and Clary here, so I'm just going to try and talk to him."

He was acting like his plan was so easy, and so going to work, but it had a ridiculous amount of flaws in it that he wasn't even considering at all.

"How bout the fact that he saw you with us, or that when he accidentally touched Clary, whatever he saw made him run away from her? How do you know that exact thing won't happen to you?" Izzy suddenly questioned him.

Honestly, she beat me to it.

Barely.

Have never been more proud to see her interrogating Jace on his stupid decisions that he always seems to be making. This has to be one of his more chill ones though.

Other ones involved flame throwers. At least this one doesn't, so progress.

It's progress.

So far the best idea we have is for Izzy to flirt her way to the finish line, but I myself am very uncomfortable with that, with being her brother and all of that stuff.

"So, should I go introduce myself then?" Izzy asked, and I instantly shook my head no.

"Then what's your plan that's oh so much better Alec? I know what's at stake here, don't think I didn't hear your phone call with Magnus the other day."

I froze as she said this, and Jace and Clary looked shocked, looking at me for answers.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I responded, not wanting to get in on this, but this just made her angrier, and Jace and Clary more confused than they already were.

"Were you just not going to tell us that we only have seven days to pull this off? That we shouldn't even have came down here in the first place? That after today we only have five days left to get him to remember everything or there will be catastrophic consequences! We're you just not going to tell us any of this and say you didn't know what happened if we happened to fail! Well I don't know about you, but I'm going to get this locket combination so we can actually fix the mess you didn't tell us we were getting into!"

She turned on her heel and walked away from us straight into the office, and almost instantly I could see that her plan was working.

Clary and Jace were trying to keep their distance from me, but Jace looked conflicted on what he was choosing to believe.

Little did we know though, someone had been listening to us from two hallways away.
