Blurry, lights. Spinning Chairs. It’s the carnival.
“I don’t want to go in the red one, I want to go on the blue one” Liz said complaining. Liz always complains. She thinks she is the shit.
“I’ll go in the red one then” Oliver and I said at the same time. The Ferris wheel started and before we knew it we were at the top of the wheel and we had the best view of the fireworks. I moved closer to Oliver and he just looked at me. Closer…..and closer. It’s 11:58. I need to get off the Ferris wheel so I can get a New Year’s kiss. It’s now 11:59. I prepare for 12. It’s 12. I plant a big, meaningful kiss. He is blushing but then puts his arm around me. “Rachael I have loved you for as long as i can remember. Kiss me again?” He demands. We kiss for the whole ride until his girlfriend gets out of her cart. We kneel down and pretend we didn’t go on the ride. She walks away. The next round we get off we walked around he put his arm around me as if I’m his girlfriend. He takes me down the old, rusted, weather warn wooden bridge. “Jump with me?!” asking nicely “Sure, but first, where are we?” I ask confused. “We're on the Jetty boardwalk. Isn’t it beautiful”
I spot a turtle swimming underneath us. When I looked back at him he was straight to my eyes we stared at each other. Oliver had amazingly, sparkly eyes. While mine were weird. My eyes change colours practically everyday. I don’t know if it’s the weather or my mood. “Your eyes are beautiful” He complimented. “Yours are too. I’m glad I kissed you.” I say in love. “Your eyes aren’t the only thing that is beautiful. Your heart. Your body. Your smile.” Oliver says starstruck.
