Since We Were 18

Chapter 1

LOUIS POV:

They are giving me a week to write this song before they tell him MY feelings? Yeah that is  absolutely not going to happen. They do know song writing takes a while, and I want this one to be perfect because I am going to be singing it to Harry. I have decided the best way for me to tell Harry my feelings is to write a song about it. So here I am at 2 am trying to find the right words to say when my phone starts to ring. Who the heck would be calling me at 2 in the morning, but then I look at the caller ID and see Harrys name pop up. Then it hits me, I never called him today. I feel so bad now, I always call him whenever we don't hang out just to check up on him and also because I love hearing his voice. I go to answer the phone but the ringing stops. I wait to see if he calls me back but he never does so I call him back. 

"Hello" I hear Harry say through the phone but he doesn't sound like he always does. "Haz, are you okay, you sound like you have been crying?" I ask him and I hear him sniffle on the other side of the phone. "Umm no I haven't been crying, it's just umm... allergies?" He says in more of a question than an answer. "Harry don't lie to me. Why have you been crying? I want to help you and make sure you are okay." I tell him and it's quiet for a minute and I get ready to ask him if he is still there but then he speaks up. "No Louis I am not okay. My best friend hasn't called me all day because apparently he is to busy with something, and I haven't called him because I didn't want to be a bother. So no I am not okay. You know we always call each other everyday we don't get a chance to hang out and you have never forgot one until today I guess. So whatever is more important than talking to me and making sure I'm okay just keep working on it, I'll find something else to do." I can hear him struggling to get out some words because he is crying and now I feel horrible, because I am the reason that he is crying. All because I didn't call him. "Harry I'm sorry I lost track of time I didn't forget about it I'm sorry. You know you could have called me before 2 am I would have answered." I tell him and I hear a dry chuckle come from the phone. "Really you would have answered if I called you a couple hours ago, because that's funny you say that. I called you 14 times before this and you didn't answer a single one. I also texted you 5 times and still no answer. Do you know how worried I was? I called Niall after I had dinner because I hadn't heard from you yet and I wanted to make sure you were okay. He told me you had something important you were working on. So please, tell me what you are working on that is so important that you worried you friend so much that he has been crying for 3 hours, because I would love to know." I can hear that he is upset with me and I feel so bad for this now because I didn't even know he called me that many times and I didn't know about it. "Harry I can't tell you what I am working on I'm sorry. You will get to know soon but not yet. I promise you will be the first one who gets to see it." I tell him. "Whatever Louis, I'm done talking to you. Last time you made me cry this much your apology afterwards sucked, so you better come up with a damn good apology this time and maybe, just maybe I'll forgive you. But until then I'm not talking to you, you have really hurt my feelings this time. Everyone else gets to know what you are working on except me and you talk to everyone else but forget about me. Good night Louis and don't call me or show up to my house until you apologize." And with that he hangs up the phone before I can even say anything to him. Ugh now I need to work on a damn apology. I need to make it a great one because I can't have him being mad at me even though what I did was pretty shitty and even I know that.

After I wake up in the morning I go eat breakfast and then shower. I make sure I am in nice clothes and I head to the store to pick up some things for Harrys apology. While I am at the store I see Zayn so I walk up to him. "Hey Zayn, whatcha doing here?" I ask. "Just picking some things up for tonight. Me and Liam are hanging out." Oh I didn't know they hung out without us, but know that I am thinking about it they both have been super close lately. Maybe something is going on between them. I'll ask that some other time. "Oh okay well that's cool I didn't know you guys hung out like that." "Umm yeah, we have been for a while now just as friends of course haha." He tells me with a nervous laugh. Something is defiantly going on between them. "Cool cool. Well I hope you guys have fun." "Yeah thanks Lou, what are you doing here, I thought you hated coming to the store?" He's not wrong, I hate going out to the store it's boring. "Oh I am just picking up some things for Harry. I upset him yesterday because I forgot to call him and he ended up calling me at 2 am and went on a whole rant and he is really upset with me so I am here to make it better." He looks at me with a smile. "Way to go Louis, always messing up with Harry before you guys are even dating. But if you really want to get to his heart, get him his favorite flowers and a stuffed animal. But make sure you get other things too. And you might want to plan on spending the day with him today, he called us all last night, I'm guessing after he was done talking to you, and he was crying for like an hour dude. You better make this apology special." He tells me and that only makes me feel worse. "I will Zayn, thank you. I'll see you later." I tell him and we go our separate ways. Now I need to get stuff fast that way I can spend the day with Harry. I head to get flowers first and then to get everything else. Once I have his favorite flowers which are carnations I head over to his house. 

I pull in the drive way and get out with the flowers. I head up to the door and nock. I wait outside for a couple minutes before the door is opened and there stands the most beautiful and perfect human I've ever met. "Hey Hazza, I brought you some things." I tell him as I hand him everything and the flowers. When he takes the flowers from me I can see a small smile creep on his face and that makes me feel better knowing he liked them. "You do know buying me my favorite flowers and all this other stuff is not going to get me to forgive you all the way right? I do really like the flowers though so thank you for those." I look at him and nod my head. "I'm sorry for being a dick yesterday Harry, I really am, but I'm going to make it up right now so I need you to be ready in like 10 minutes. We are going out." I tell him and he says, "fine Lou, you're lucky I love you or I would not be talking to you right now and agreeing with this." He says as he walks away to put the flowers in a pot. "Yeah yeah, just go get ready haz, we have a long day to get started on." I tell him with a smile and he rolls his eyes in a playful matter and smiles at me before he is off to get ready for our day.

"Alright Louis I'm ready to go, where are we going again?" I hear Harry ask me as he walks down the stairs. "That is for me to know and for you to find out cutie." He looks up at me when I let the pet name slip out but to be honest I meant to say it so I could see how he would react to it. He blushes and looks down at his feet. "I'm not cute Louis, shut up and lets go." He says. "Alright haz whatever you say but clearly you haven't looked at yourself today." I tell him with a smile and a wink as we get into the car. 

"Okay hazza, so we are going to the mall first and you are going to pick out whatever you want and then we are going to go to the lake and have a picnic and then after that we are going to the recording studio so we can work on something for a little." I tell him and he turns to look at me and says, "sounds like a fun day but I don't have money for the mall so that will be a no for me, but we can do everything else." "Harry I didn't say you were buying things at the mall. I'll be buying everything for you. It's part of my apology for yesterday. I feel really bad about it. I didn't mean to not call you, I really was busy all day and the thing I am working on is actually for you so that is why I can not tell you about it." I tell him and I wasn't suppose to tell him the surprise was for him but I don't want him mad at me again. "Your working on something for me? Why?" He asks as we pull into the mall parking lot. "You'll see when it's done, I promise you'll be the first to know." I smile at him and we get out of the car and head into the mall.

We shop around for about 2 hours before we start to get hungry and Harry has a few bags in each hand. Well I have the bags in my hands because I don't want him to carry anything. "Hey Lou, can we go have that picnic now I'm starving." "Yeah I am getting hungry too, come one lets go." We load everything into the car and head off to the lake. The lake is like 20 minutes away so it's not to long of a drive. Once we finally get there we set up the picnic and dig into our food. We don't talk much as we eat, we just eat in silence and listen to the water. "Louis we should go on a trip with the other boys." Harry says after a while of silence. "Really? Where too, and why all of a sudden do you want to go on a trip?" He looks at me and says, "I think it would be fun and I'm not sure where yet but I think we all could use a little time away, don't you think?" He is right we don't go many places together as friends, maybe this will be a good idea. "Yeah I guess you're right. We can start looking at places tonight and let the boys know tomorrow if you want." He smiles at me so big. "I love that idea, but can you spend the night tonight please? You don't have too but it would be nice." He asks me as he looks down at the ground. I lift his chin up with my fingers and say, "Harry, you don't have to be shy about it, I'm always down to spend the night. I love spending time with you." I tell him with a smile on my face. "Okay cool, we are gonna watch movies all night and eat a bunch of food." His smile on his face only grows as he tells me what we are doing tonight. "That sounds great hazza but maybe we should finish our day first." He blushes at that and nods his head. "Oh yeah, my bad haha. Come on lets go finish up what you had planned so we can start our sleep over." He says with a giggle at the end. Man, he is making me fall more in love with him every day.
