Tick.

Tock.

Tick.

Tock.

We've been staring at the clock for the past hour and still no Ariana. It's just so typical. She won't show up, it's obvious, she just said she would so that she could stand me up.

"She's not coming, just leave." I sigh as I make my way to the piano. Harry gave Troye a confused glance but Troye told him he's got it.

"I know you're upset-" He started before I cut him off.

"You don't know anything Troye." I snapped. I know he meant no harm but he was really pissing me off. He just didn't know when to shut the fuck up. Troye looked hurt at my sudden outburst which made me realise what exactly I said. "I'm sorry- I just need some time to myself." I weakly tell him. He gives me one last look before nodding and leaving me alone with my thoughts.

I groan before letting my hands get lost on the piano. I honestly didn't know what to do, Ariana showing up was the best chance we had at getting that money. Of course she doesn't fail to disappoint me though.

I was a liar
I gave into the fire
I know I should've fought it
At least I'm being honest

I pause at the sound of that familiar voice. It was the same voice that would sing subconsciously sing to herself whenever she felt nervous or needed to calm down.

Those lyrics were beautiful too, I mean I can only assume she wrote them as they're unfamiliar and she is really talented. She sang them with heart, that was something I always admired about her.

"Why'd you stop?" I question, snapping out of my thoughts.

Something about her voice always managed to hook me in and wanted me to beg for more, she always knew how to do that to me.

"Why did you?" She slightly shrugged as she slid next to me on the chair. We were very close due to the lack of space on the chair, and by close I mean hella close. "I'm sorry I was late, I had to talk with Mr Slater so practice ran a bit late." She apologised with a shy smile.

It was like her whole character changed, she wasn't our usual queen bee right now. Her aura was a whole lot softer and valuable.

"Oh." I simply say looking down at my hands. What am I really supposed to say? 'Hey Ari I've been in love with you ever since we were kids and when you ditched me it was the root of my trust issues but I still love you.' That wouldn't even sound good. I don't even know if i really despise her or not, cause truth be told she's still Ariana even though she doesn't like to think so.

"Look at me Y/N." She instructed with a frustrated tone.

I furrowed my eyebrows but my eyes never left my lap. Why the hell does she want me to look at her and why does she look pissed? Did i miss a chapter or-

"Seriously? I'm fucking helping you, the least you could do is say thank you Y/N." She scoffs as she crosses her arms.

"There it is. You can't go more than five minutes without bitching, huh?" I automatically roll my eyes.

"I was not bitching." She muttered.

"It seems to me that you are." I tusks as it was also my turn to cross my arms.

"And you're ungrateful!" She yells standing up.

"How am I ungrateful?!" I yell back as I also stood up.

"It's clear you mom didn't teach you manners!" She shouted before there was a deafening silence. "I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that, I forgot." Her face softened after she realised what she said.

"Oh so you do know?" I raise an eyebrow towards her.

"Yeah, of course our parents were best friends."  Ariana nodded as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

"So why wasn't you there Ari?" I my voice cracks as I question. I didn't mean for it to but it just happened and I guess I was getting a little emotional. "I can't fucking do this right now." I scoff once I get no response and leave the room.

I needed to get so fucking high.

So I went grabbed my stash and walked to my car and leaned on it as I took a puff.

Maybe this whole band thing was a bad Idea. Maybe thinking Ariana would be a great fit was a bad Idea. I just wish someone else could sing with us, who actually had a good voice but there's not doubt Ariana is the best singer in school.

"Y/N!" A voice snaps me out of my thoughts and a green rooted haired girl runs up to me.

It was Billie, she was a sophomore but she was still super chill and down to earth. We're also cousins too from my moms side so that's cool.

"Hey Bill." I smile as she reaches me.

"Hey dude, is it cool I gave Grande your number?" She asked as she leaned against my car too. My eyes widen completely when she says that.

"Huh?!"

"Yeah she was like in a hurry looking for something until she asked me to give her your number, so I did." She explained with a small shrug. Billie knew exactly what she was doing, she's heard the story a thousand times so It's not like she's clueless.

"I hate you." I shake my head, burning out the weed the was once in my hand. Is it bad I'm not really mad at Billie, I just don't care.

"Thanks Y/N/N, anyways can you give me a ride home?" She questions as she steps into my car.

"Whatever." I roll my eyes as I sit in the drivers seat.

i'm sorry this chapter sucks but that's only because It's the beginning of the story and I have to slow ease into things as I don't wanna just rush in, I mean if I did, I don't think the book would be that good, you know?
