0 days, 0 hours, 18 minutes, and 4 seconds. That's the last time the clock attached to my wrist read. It wasn't a surprise I was going to meet him today. I have literally know for my entire life that today would be the day. Instead of feeling excited or thrilled that today I would meet my soul mate, I felt my stomach bottom out. I finished showering and threw on a pair of jeans. I thought about dressing up but I want him to know what I really was like. My mom yelled from the bottom of the stairs, "Cameron! If you want to eat you need to move a little faster!" My mom didn't know today was the day. I smiled as I imagined her running after Olivia and James. With one dressed like Batman and the other dressed like the Joker they raced around the house with Batman proclaiming that Gotham was safe. I slid down the banister, jumped on my skateboard and was out the door before the Joker could strike again.
I knew I was going to be late if I took a right instead of left but I couldn't bring myself to ignore the feeling like I would be missing out on something fantastic if I took that left. I neared the stop sign knowing a decision needed to be made. I sighed in resignation and made the right.
0 days, 0 hours, 6 minutes, and 37 seconds. My heart pounded against my chest as I flew down the street. This was it. I waited 17 years for this. I swiped my dark hair out of my eyes and scanned the road for who was supposed to be the love of my life. 2 minutes left. I looked a street over and saw boy watering his lawn. His shoulders were broad and tense. His brow furrowed and he looked like he was trying to figure out some great mystery. 30 seconds and I would meet him. I could almost reach him. I hit his sidewalk and started running towards him. Something was wrong. Why wasn't he turning around? His front door slammed shut and I froze. I looked over at the boy standing at the door and his panicked green eyes met my brown ones. When he saw me he seemed to relax and made his way towards me. The boy watering the lawn forgotten, I walked towards the boy with the wild, blonde hair. When a foot separated us our watches beeped in harmony. I stuck my hand out to shake his. He looked me in the eye and with a lopsided grin and said, "We're soul mates, this is our first meeting, and this is all I get?" I stuttered out my reply with what few wits he hadn't annihilated with that smile, "Uhh...well...I mean... This is our first meeting and I just thought-"
"Relax love, I was just messing with you." I blushed and began taking an unusual interest in my Vans. "What's your name?" "Ryker, and you?" "Cameron." I finally rose my eyes to meet his and knew without a doubt this boy would be the one I spent eternity with. "Well, Cameron, you certainly are handsome."
