"Have you heard the legend of kokuryuu?"

"kokuryuu, yes? But what's that got to do with this?" Liliana asked with confusion and a bit disapointed with Irene's answer.

"It's got everything to do with this" Irene said with a serious face, unwavered.

Liliana paused, almost frightened by her piercing eyes. She gulped and motioned Irene to continue.

"Well, it's said that there are five legendary artifacts that once belonged to the legendary Kokuryuu. The sword of Ranga, the great shield of Mahel, the hammer of Thivan, Silva's Dagger and finally Dilhara's pocket watch" Irene turned her eyes to lock with Liliana's, as though to telepathically tell her what was the obvious. Liliana seemed to have received the message, and her eyes shook.

"Are you trying to say that my mother is in possession of Dilhara's pocket watch?" Liliana asked already knowing the answer, but still had hope that she was wrong.

Irene nodded her head slowly
"I'm afraid so, and as the legend goes. Kokuryuu's hatred for humans ran soo deep that he placed a curse on each item, slowly the person in possession of the item will start to rot away from the inside...." Before Irene could continue on any further Liliana clasped both of her hands on Irene's mouth, that was a sign that she wanted to hear no more, she slumped her head.

"Liliana...." Vlad called, he reached his hand towards her shoulder in order to make her even the slightest bit positive.
But the moment his hand grazed off her

'slap'

Everyone turned their heads to the sound, shocked. Liliana had finally lost it.

"I don't want your pity!" She snapped, "my mother may die and I have no way of helping her!" She sobbed.

"Liliana...." Lady Heliete called but coughed after she spoke, seeing her mother like this only made Liliana feel worse and more depressed in the inside.

Vlad looked at her but his words were detained, he had no idea as to how he would make her feel better. He felt hopeless.

This is when Irene stepped in
"There is a way....." Irene began, Liliana shot her head up, confusion and hope in her eyes.

"What is it?" Liliana asked.

"Let me explain thoroughly, since the moment Lady Heliete made contact with Dilhara's pocket watch her soul was bound by contract to the curse until her moment of death. But.......
There is a way to rid of the curse"

"What is it?!" Liliana asked with desperation.

"It's a bit complicated, you would have to......." Just before Irene could finish her sentence footsteps could be heard coming from the corridor. Everyone turned their direction towards the sound.

Liliana looked at the direction with worry 'what was it this time, why disturb this moment of desperation' Liliana mentally thought.

Someone came running bursting through the doors.

"Mistress!" The said person shouted as her breathe was thin.

"Jia?!" Liliana called, "whatever is the matter?"

"Oujo-san...... Quickly, you must run!"

"Jia......cough..... Whatever is the matter?" Heliete asked as she coughed through her sentence.

"They......they've come!" She exclaimed.

Heliete's face turned pale as a ghost, she went into shock as her whole body trembled in fear.

"Mother?......."

"Quickly....cough.....we must go!" Heliete shouted as she struggled to her feet.

"What's going on mother?"

"No time to explain" she replied.
Heliete grabbed her daughter's hand and with the support of Jia they quickly dashed as fast as they could. Everyone else followed pursuit, Except for...........

.

........

Irene, who just stood there with a blank expression and staring off into oblivion.

"Nee-san!" Vlad called as he ran back for her. "What are you doing? We have to go!"

"Why should I run, I'm not a coward. Whatever is coming, I'll deal with it" she smirked and crossed her arms proudly.

"Not this time you won't" Vlad grabbed Irene's hand and jolted after the rest, Irene didn't seem to notice as she was lost in thought.

Meanwhile:
"Mother, where are we going?" Liliana asked her already breathless mother.

"No time my child, please just run" Liliana stayed quiet, worry painted across her face.

As they ran for what felt like an eternity, they heard the roaring sounds of what felt like the hellfire of war. Heliete eased her place and came to a stop. Her hands were shaking as though they would create an earthquake.

"Mother....?" Liliana asked but her mother did not seem to notice as she strided across the cold hard floor slowly coming to a corner.

She peeked at the edge and slumped down to her knees as she covered her moth with unbelievability, horror plastered across her face.

Liliana walked after her mother and she too tried to look at what her mother had seen but was stopped just before she could.

Liliana looked at her mother ready to ask why she stopped her and as if it was as though her mind was read, Heliete slowly nodded her head side to side. It was a sign not to ask anymore. Liliana complied, but..........

There was another problem, one of the maids happened to have scene the sight at the curved corner and screamed at the top of her lungs.

All the attention turned to her, everyone that were escaping with Heliete ran over to see what was going on, and to their horror, the sight to behold the of a blood bath.
