The crisp air of the early morning made Gloria shiver as she walked down the street to the coffee shop

The crisp air of the early morning made Gloria shiver as she walked down the street to the coffee shop. Her ballet bag was already at the studio, and she'd confessed to the director that she did indeed have a date, so she was thankfully free for the next hour or so.

However, the butterflies in Gloria's stomach were nothing if not torture.

She couldn't stop running over the previous night in her mind. Sebastian—a famous actor—had asked her out, had seemed nervous while doing it, and to top it all off, actually came to see Gloria's performance before they'd even properly met.

Gloria clutched the strap of her crossbody bag as she entered the coffee shop. It was almost empty, save for the baristas and about two patrons—and there, sitting at a small corner table with two cups of coffee in front of him, was Sebastian.

She swallowed and approached the table. "Hi."

"Hi," Sebastian echoed, then slid one of the coffee cups towards her as a sort of peace offering. "Black coffee, right?"

"Right," Gloria answered, sitting down and taking off her jacket. "Thank you."

Sebastian shrugged modestly. "Well, this is a date, right?" He asked, cheeks slightly flushed. "Figured I'd do the gentlemanly thing and pay for your drink."

In spite of her nerves, Gloria felt her lips stretch into a smile. "You really are Prince Charming, huh?"

"I mean," Sebastian shrugged again, rubbing the back of his neck bashfully, "if it gets me a date with a pretty girl, then yeah, maybe I am." He took a long sip of his coffee and winked at her.

Feeling like a schoolgirl with a crush, Gloria breathed a laugh and ran a hand through her hair. "Pretty?" she repeated. "Really? This early?"

"Definitely," Sebastian affirmed, nodding. "But I have to ask—why so early?" He cleared his throat awkwardly. "I mean, not that I'm upset, I would've had an early start either way, but. . ." Sebastian cast her a curious look, and Gloria's smile widened as she shook her head.

"I do wish it could've been later in the day," she admitted. "But I don't really have breaks, and this was the only time I was free for a few weeks." Gloria shrugged and took a sip of her coffee. "During performance season I'm lucky if I get even half a day off."

Raising his eyebrows, Sebastian drummed his fingers on the table. "How often do you perform?"

"Once a day during the week, twice on Saturdays," Gloria recited. "But from Monday to Friday I have seven hour practices every day." She grinned at Sebastian over the top of her coffee cup. "I won't pretend it doesn't get frustrating, but it's what I love." She nodded, mostly to herself. "I'm glad I got the opportunity to pursue this."

Sebastian blinked. "Whoa."

"What?"

"You sound like you're in an interview," Sebastian confessed. "It's cute."

"C-cute?" Gloria spluttered, feeling her face grow warm. "Oh, no—I'm sorry, I think I'm still stuck in a perpetual oh-my-goodness-Vogue-is-interviewing-me mode—" She slapped her forehead. "Sheesh. Sorry. It's just the. . . actor thing."

A smile lit up Sebastian's face, making his eyes seem suddenly brighter, and Gloria couldn't help but return the smile as he said, "Please tell me you didn't put together a Sebastian Stan Crash Course before coming here."

Gloria pressed her lips together, trying to hide the giggle she felt coming on. "Does watching all the Captain America movies in one night count?" she asked hesitantly, feeling her heart jump when Sebastian laughed.

"You mean all two movies?" Sebastian asked, eyebrows raised. "I gotta admit, that's some serious preparation."

"Well," Gloria said, "it payed off." She shrugged and sipped her coffee again, then set it down on the table. "Hey. . . what do you say we go to the park? It's starting to warm up."

Sebastian's smile returned, and he leaned forward, eyes glinting. "Gloria," he said, making her stomach flip-flop at the way he said her name, "I like the way you think."
