Ali walked down the hallway of her busy and pushing school.
This was her last year.. It would be okay, wouldn't it?
Her binders were warming up against her cold and tired body. Jasaline had taken her home the day before. They both had eaten, climbed the tree, and talked.
It was nice to get it out of her system, but it wasn't enough..
Ali turned the peeling locker knob. The black paint looked at least fifty years old.
"Please talk to me." A boy interrupted her movements making her jump
Just what she needed, a boy that was going to hurt her..
"Ali?" No, it wasn't a boy that would hurt her..
"Kyle," Ali put her binders in her locker and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I didn't know if you were okay?" Kyle's pleasant voice softened her attitude.
"I was..." What was she? Ali frowned.
"I was umm.."
Kyle just chuckled and hugged her tighter. Thank goodness he didn't ask her anymore questions. The bell rang for first period making them separate and go to their different classes.

The breeze picked up making the hot humid air survivable. Her binders felt like 200-pound weights in her arms. No homework, thank God...
The sound of an old engine hummed behind her, making her pick up her pace.
Ali was nervous, she knew she could hurt whoever it was, she just didn't want to do that...
"Ali!' She spun around to see her old friend, Mackenzie.
"Mack!" She rushed over to the red Volkswagen beetle. "What's wrong?"
Mackenzie smiled and shook her head, "No, you got it all wrong, I thought we could go grab some frozen yogurt at Beach Berry?"
Ali was so happy she practically dove into the car. She needed something sweet to cheer her up, well... Kyle tried this morning.

"So, how are you Miss Ali?" Mack tapped on the purple steering wheel driving to the frozen yogurt place.
Ali thought about it, "I'm having issues..."
Mack nodded, "Oh, I see, it's a boy isn't it?"
Ali made a sound of protest, but Mackenzie stopped her, "Say no more, I can tell when a boy has slipped into someones heart and they can't let go."
Mack's auburn hair was long and it reached down to her waist, "Isn't it?"
Ali nodded sheepishly, "It is..."
Mack smiled, "An arse at that?"
Ali laughed and nodded, "He can be an arse sometimes.."
Mack drove the small car into a wide parking spot. It was filled with Mack's car.
"Well, let's go get some frozen yogurt to get your mind off things!" She hopped out of the car waiting for Ali to follow.
They walked into the chilly store with delicious smelling food.
A young man was behind the cash register looking at his mobile device. He quickly looked up with a plastered on smile.
"Welcome to Beach Berry, just go ahead and pick out a size bowl for your frozen yogurt, then come on back over here to weigh it." His voice sounded rehearsed, it was quite entertaining.
Ali looked at his white and blue striped T-shirt. His name tag was pinned onto the cloth which read- Mark.
"Okay, sounds great to me, you?" Mack looked at her and Ali nodded a firm 'yes'.
Ali walked around all the flavoured yogurt, it all looked delicious to her. She was holding her little plastic bowl and looking at the two choices she was deciding on.
Cookies and Creme or Star-burst.
Star-burst was the flavour Cole would eat with her when they were together... Talk about bitter sweet..
She shrugged and mixed the two of the frozen yogurts together.
Ali and Mackenzie both placed their bowls onto the weightier to pay for the frozen yogurt.
"And that'll be $10.00 if I get to have your number..." Mark looked at Mack and she blushed against her nearly pale complexion.
"S-Sure..." Mack handed him the cash along with a slip of paper having her digits on it.
Ali laughed as they exited the place of joy, that day had been pretty darn fun.
