Back at the palace, in the dungeons, some prisoners were making a ruckus. They were yelling, and banging on their cell doors. Probably the usual. Either hunger, boredom, untold anger... Some guards came to knock their little rebellion out, and not quite nicely. They ... Actually, she didn't know what they did. All the way in the back, she couldn't hear much. Even if she could she was to tired to try and even care. Sitting up, legs spread in the front, she was looking at her injured wrists.

The chained cuffs had left pretty bad bruises since they were heavy and tight. She took a deep breath and reminded herself. She had a plan. During all the time she was in prison, she put up a front. Acted weak and scared. She was scared of course but, not as much as she showed. She made it seem as she was malnourished, traumatized and what not. She was only waiting for the sports festival, an event where all the brave warriors of the land would compete to win a spot in the King's special troupe.

She could have escaped anytime she wanted but she wanted to take a safe bet, make sure it would be as easy as possible. The guards kept talking about it, how exciting it was, who was gonna be there and who was gonna be hard to beat, she knew all the intel she needed to get the fuck out of this shit hole. She was smart. All her life, when she lived in the mountains with her tribe, we went through numerous hours of magic training, logic classes. She came from a powerfull race of sorcerers that connected with a dark ancient magic source. And she knew how to use it. Only two more days and she would be free.

Even if she acted weak, it didn't mean that she was in good shape. The disgusting food, air, lack of light took a toll on her body and mind. Even if hybrids of her kind liked the dark, it was still bad to stay in it too long. Her feathers had lost their shimmer, looking dull and dirty. She sighed at herself. She hated how pathetic she felt. It wasn't her fault at all that she was here but she kept feeling guilty to have gotten caught. And now, guilty to whom? Not like her people were around to keep blaming her for all the bad things happening.

" Y/n, y/n, why the fuck did you let yourself get captured. Dumbass bitch" We can say she took a habit of talking to herself, to keep sane in this cage. She was playing around with her restraints when she heard people approaching her cell door. She quickly laid on the floor closed her eyes to make it seem like she was sleeping.

Someone got in the cell, closing the door quietly. Judging from the footsteps, it wasn't the king or that awful jerk with the scars. Getting the all clear from herself, she quietly opened her eyes.

It was that prince, the one with the white and red coloured hair. He came closer but not too close, as to keep his distance. He sat on the cold rock floor and reached into the satchel hanging from his shoulder and pulled out wrapped bread and cheese.

"Um, hello..? I, uh"

Suspicious, she started to sit up slowly, looking at the stranger in the eyes, noticing they weren't the same color. She raised an eyebrow at the guy who stiffened up at that look.

"What's your name."

"Damn, that guy is so awkward. Bet he doesn't talk much" she thought. She crossed her arms, making the chains sing as he put his hand on his head and sighed.

"Look, I'm sorry, I know I'm bad at this."

Little silence here.

"I wanted to apologize. I didn't want to hurt you the other day. I know you told me to but, i still feel horrible. I want to get you out."

She knit her brows at this. Huh? Get her out? Obviously she couldn't trust him. He could be acting on his father's orders but something told her he was sincere. She couldn't act on it though, she had to keep her walls up to make sure she was safe.

Lowering her gaze, the girl took the bread and cheese and sat back on the brick wall.

"Yeah, like that doesn't sound very sus." She took a bite.

He sighed again at her désinvolture.

"Look, I want to get away too. I can't stand being here any longer and surely you don't like it here either. I got a long time friend who can help us out for awhile. We just need to..."

"No." He stopped rambling and looked up to the fully black eyes staring at him. "What? W-why no? Why would you want to stay?"

"I'm not going with you. This is probably a ruse. Do you think I'm that stupid? I've been here for long enough to know I shouldn't trust anyone. Why would you be different?" She looked up to the sky and took another bite.

"Thanks for the food tho. Whatever they serve else is disgusting as fuck."

"So you are going to stay? Don't you want to go back to your family, your friends?"

"Look, I don't know what you think you know about me but it's none of your business. I'm fine."

"I just wanted to make up for what they did to you... And what I did."
"And that's fine with me. I just can't trust you." She took a softer tone "Why don't you just leave by yourself, you don't even know me."

The prince looked down at his hands, fingers twirling together. Honestly, he wasn't fond of leaving alone.

"I thought you and I could relate. Being stuck in a place we both don't want to be. To be honest, I never really spoke things like this with anyone. My brother is a psychopath, sister is always reserved. I think she wants to keep the family together. My mother is ill. I don't think she has long. My other brother is always out with the army. Well... Sorry about that. I just want to leave."

That kinda was sad to hear. The guy was really alone, no friends no real family. Only living in a rotten home full of related strangers.

"I can't do much but I hope it gets better for you." Y/n held a soft smile, to make it known that she felt him, trough their differences and their sorrow. The boy nodded his head and got up. He waited at the door, looking out for the guards. Todoroki got out, locking the door.

Y/n exhaled, now alone. She finished the bread and thanked the Goddess of the night  to be able to eat good food. It had been a long time since she had a decent meal. Taking the wrapping to put it aside, something heavy held her attention. She unwrapped it further to see a tiny black key. Maybe escaping was gonna be easier than she thought.
