Serena's POV

"Why so early? I haven't died yet. You should have taken your time a little more and came to my funeral!" Lydia came running to the car. I laugh and she gets in and side hugs me.

Lydia was my best friend, I've known her since before I knew myself. For seventeen years, we had been by each others side. Now we're  in junior year and even though we have other friends, we were still the best of friends and hipefully would be for a long, long time.

She had natural wavy, blond hair that was to die for, and beautiful baby blue eyes. Light pink lips and beatific light skin.

"Happy 17th birthday, how do you feel." She beamed, facing towards me.

"Ahh, ok. I forgot all about that." I smiled sheepishly.

"Really, how do you forget your own birthday?" She takes something out of her bag and holds it out to me, "Here."

"What is this?"

"Open and you'll see!" She smirks at me.

I open it to see that it's a beautiful silver necklace with my name on it. By the name was a silver wolf, howling.  "Oh my god! It's beautiful, thanks you." I hug her.

"Welcome," Her arms wrap tightly around my back. "So, who do you think he will be?" She wiggles her braws, weird look in her eyes.

I pretend like I have to idea what she's talking about and shrug. "Who will be who, what are you talking about?"

"Bitch, you know what I'm talking about!" She exclaims, mockingly glaring at me.

"I have no idea who my mate will be, but we'll probably find out soon."

My mind drifts off, thinking back to everything. I'm seventeen, I'll meet my mate today, my best friend is right by my side. My father isn't here anymore, my brother hates me. My mother despises me.

The painful clench in my heart brings me out of my revare. Tears blur my vision, I blink couple of times and a tear slides down my cheek.

Shaking my head, I focus my attention on the necklace in between my hands and the only real family member I have. My mood instantly picks up, Lydia is my family, the only person I need other than my mate.

I put the necklace on and look at her, "How's it look?"

"Perfect, like it was made for you." She jokes making me laugh.

"I hope he's cute," She says out of no where, making me laugh.

**

I pulled up at our school and parked my car.

We got out and started walking in. We got to my locker, I was getting my books for my first three classes when someone pushed me from behind.

"Oops. I don't even know how I didn't see you there. You're so fat." Turning I came face to face with Lacey, the schools popular girl. She's one the hottest and most liked girls in the school. She's also very self centered and a grade A bitch.

She and her friends laughed, going to their own lockers.

"Why the hell don't you get glasses than? It seem like you need them. Maybe then you can see something and not fall on to other guys bed's with your legs open. Oh, wait! I forgo, you do that on purpose." Lydia feigned a gasped, glaring at Lacey.  "Well, you still need glasses. Cause you still can't see that they only want you so they can screw you."

I pulled her back from the girls when she started advancing towards them. "Liddy, its ok. They're not worth it."

She ignored me and continued. "You're just a hump and dump. An old, reusable rag. Soon your going to get all ugly and ripped, then they'll really be done with you." Her voice only arose, Lacey backed up.
