Chapter-3

Magnus POV

"Are u excited for your mate?" Gabriel, my beta, asked me

"Am I supposed to be excited to meet someone who will be with me my whole life and basically control me Gabe? "

"Magnus it's not like that! Mate is supposed to be your other half! she is supposed to complete u. Don't talk like your mate is a piece of shit!"

"What do u want me to say Gabriel? That I am supposed to meet my mate who is my only weakness? I am not excited to meet her! I don't want to meet her!"

"Whatever! U say what U say! This all will change when u meet her"

I replayed these scenes which happened 3 months ago after I turned 18. Me and Gabriel were best friends but our huge difference was he was ready to accept his mate and I wasn't.

All unmated wolfs including alphas are required to travel to different packs to see whether their mates are in one of them and I was supposed to do this but I wasn't doing this.

Gabriel came back yesterday from after visiting a pack that was 7 hours away from ours and he was unlucky because she wasn't in there either.

"Hey bud..." I addressed him knowing he might be on the verge of tears

"Hey Magnus" he sounded like a kid who dropped his ice-cream

"It's gonna be fine dude. You will find her the next time don't be sad! I can't see u being sad" I told him not knowing what to say

"Magnus you do know that this is the 7th pack I'm visiting and there are only 2 left! What if she is dead? What if moon goddess never gave me a mate? What if...." I didn't let him finish it

"Gabriel! Stop! U have 2 more packs left! If u don't find her here I will arrange a travel for u to go to other packs around the world! And she is not dead because u will feel it! And the moon goddess didn't make a mistake either because she never makes a mistake! Now come here are give yr best frnd a hug and then we can take the pups to the lake understand?"

He just knodded his head and gave me a loose hug before going to call the pups. I could see the disappointment and the sadness in his eyes

The lake

"Mara! Stop pushing Liam into the lake!" I yelled at the 10 year old

"Pups! Please listen. We took you guys to the lake on the word that you all will behave. And now u guys are utter mess. Just stop pushing others into the lake and throwing mud on others. Understand?" Gabriel said.

"Yes beta!" They all said in unison

"Good! Now I'm gonna teach you guys how to swim alright? beta will help me too. All kids under 8 go to ur beta and all the ones above come to me." The group turned into two and kids above 8 started coming to me.

"Gabe u good?" I asked my beta who was being tackled down by kids.

"Ya" he said laughing

All the kids were tired after the trip to lake.they were taken to their homes.

Even though I was the alpha of one of the largest and strongest pack, I found time for everyone in the pack. I talked to everyone knew what they needed, and I supported them.

We had 4 families waiting for pups within 2 months so I ordered all the necessary things for the nursery of the pups.

Our pack doctors were Angels to mother's because pups always did something or another and hurt themselves by falling off a branch or anything you can think.

"Alpha we have a female human laying on the outskirts of our eastern territory near the cliff. Looks like a suicide attempt. I don't think she is alive she jumped off the cliff almost 100foot high. What should we do?" I was pulled out of my thoughts when Henry, one of the guards on border patrol mind linked me. But as soon as I heard that there was a suicide attempt, I knew I had to go

"I'm coming. Don't touch her but cover her with your shirts or something"

"Yes alpha" I quickly stripped and shifted into my midnight black coloured wolf.

When I got near the east border a sweet, intoxicating smell of wild berries and pine covered me. 'MATE' words spilled out from my mouth. Both me and my wolf Cyan were shocked to see that our mate was laying there unconscious and was about to die

"It's alright guys. She is my mate" my voice cracked when I said mate

I quickly went to check her pulse there was almost no pulse and she wasnt breathing I knew what I thought I should do that was to check her airway for anything that could chock her and then did CPR on her. When I got a pulse it was steady but not strong.

I quickly scooped her up and linked the pack doctors

"Dr.Sam we have a casualty coming in. She is a human and I want her to be taken to the 5th floor of the hospital. Please make it quick as I'm about to reach" i was already freaking out. Even though I didn't want a mate when I saw her I knew it would be hard and depressing to live without her

"Yes alpha. I will arrange room in 5th floor and what is the cause?" He asked

5th floor was for the alphas family. Beta and gamma familys occupied the 4th floor 3rd floor was for gynecology and pediatrics. 1st and 2nd floor were for the pack and those 2 floors alone consisted of 1700 rooms and 15 dorms which had 10 beds each

"Suicide attempt".

"Is she bleeding anywhere?" I quickly checked her once more

"No doc she is clean of major injuries but she has some bruses on her arms and a large blue patch on her stomach. Im in the hospital doctor. Which room?"

"Room 504"

After I layed her down on the bed, It was all a blur. I couldn't understand anything. He was shocking her cutting into her stomach where she had internal bleeding. Hooking up her to almost a 100 machines I didn't know. I felt so hopeless and I regretted she was hurt

"Alpha, who is she?" Dr.sam asked me with a confused look

"She is your Luna" he quickly took a short breath and had sadness and guilt in his eyes

"I'm sorry to say this alpha but I should not give you false hope. Luna might not make it through the night. She had a good amount of blood loss through internal bleeding and 4 of her ribs are fractured. She is lucky it didn't cut into her heart. But it did cause some serious damage to her arteries. Her heart might not hold on for very long. I'm sorry for the loss alpha" Dr.sam said

"It's not your fault doctor." I didn't want him to feel bad

He just knodded and left me alone with my mate
