decided to change it up and do aqua and mint's pov
and this is how they started dating n stuff :P
aqua's pov first ;-)

The Night of Crystal Moon was never a thing I thought actually happened. I had heard about it when I was younger, but it was nothing more than a fairy tale. And yet here I was, listening to Opal rave about it. She was holding a small poster in her hands, advertising the whole thing.

"It only happens every 20 years! The sky over Kitsa turns into beautiful crystal like shapes. The village holds a dance and everything. Thomas and I are already going, but I just wanted to know if you two were gonna come."

I sighed. That'd mean I'd have to get something formal to wear, and I didn't want to put on a dress. But when I turned to Mint, her eyes were bright and she looked excited.

"I've always wanted to go a dance on the Night of the Crystal Moon! Of course I'll come!" she turned to me, and I guess my uninterested expression ruined her mood.

"Are you... not gonna come?" Mint frowned.

"I don't have anything to wear. Sorry."

"You don't have to wear a dress, silly! I can get you something else. Pleaaaaasseeeeee?"

She looked over at me with wide eyes.

"Fine, I'll come. But only because you want me to."

Opal grinned. "We're gonna have so much fun! I'll just have to see if August will come."

It had taken Opal a while to forgive me, but once she did, she ran with it. Sure, Thomas wasn't happy about it, but he came to terms with it. I talked things out with him, and eventually, everything was... almost back to normal. Except between Mint and I. Things had been... odd, recently. Every time she'd say something nice about me or I'd cuddle with her at night, I could feel my face get warm and it felt less like we were friends and more like...

I don't know.

All I know is that I couldn't think about it around her or else she'd intrude in on my thoughts. Not that she meant to, of course, but it made things super difficult for me.

Sometimes it feels, y'know, not... right. Not that anybody had a problem with two girls being together, but that she was my childhood best friend and I was feeling these things. So I just kept my mouth shut and pretended like we were just the best friends we had always been. Then, nothing would change, right?

But it did change.

And for once, it was for the better.

Mint's POV :D

I can't believe I got her to agree to that.

I'm not really sure she wanted to go, but she was gonna go with me and I got to pick what she wore, so it worked for me. In her head I could hear the constant put-downs she was dealing to herself, so I decided I had to make her look great for the Crystal Moon. Or, great to her. Because she always looks great in my eyes. But I'd never tell her that, because then she'd get suspicious of me, and then she wouldn't huddle me in her arms like she did each night. I could tell there was nothing romantic behind her cuddles, but they still meant the world to me. But occasionally if I called her pretty her face would get all red... so maybe I do have a chance. But tonight I'm gonna "shoot my shot" as they say, and I'm gonna tell her.

Aqua went to the dress/suit store to buy she and I's outfit for the Crystal Moon.

It didn't take long for me to pick out my own dress. I picked a white dress. It had a corset like type with a short-ish skirt and wispy sleeves that nearly covered my hands. As I looked at myself in the mirror, I immediately knew this was the right fit. I decided to not show Aqua yet; it'd be a surprise.
