        "Marianne? Marianne,can you here me? Marianne?"

~~~
        I bolted up in my bed, instantly regretting this decision and wincing.
        "Marianne?" Spencer sat up and looked at me, a hand on my back.
        "I'm fine...fine."
~~~Three and a half weeks earlier~~~

        Emily ran over to  Marianne, taking her pulse.

        "She's alive!" Spencer stood there...in shock.  Many emotions flowed through him. Fear...Anger..."We have to get her upstairs." Spencer snapped out of his daze as Hotch and Rossi picked her up, rushing her to the elevator, which was full of dead bodies. Emily dragged the out of the way and they got where they needed to go.

        "Somebody, help us!" Hotch called. A nurse wheeled a gurney over, and they placed Marianne on it. They rolled her away. Spencer tried to follow but another nurse held him back.

        "Sir, you need to stay here. Sir." Morgan walked in, having escaped the ambulence.

        "What happened?"

        "Marianne has been shot." Hotch said. Spencer turned around to look at Morgan.

        "Where were you?"

        "That bomb was gonna go off any second. I told her to get out but she insisted I leave-"

        "And you did it! She wasn't wearing a vest, and you left her with an armed bomber!" Spencer yelled. Hotch pushed him back. He pushed his hair out of his face. Barley two or three hours ago he was on his honeymoon with his wife. Now he was in the hospital not knowing if she was going to live.

~~~
        The Doctor came out hours later. Spencer stood up.
        "How is she?" Hotch asked.
        "The operation is taking longer then we expected. The bullet broke into six pieces on impact." We're still working on removing the last two."
        "Is she going to be ok?" Emily asked. The Doctor sighed.
        "We honestly don't know." Spencer fell, but Rossi and Morgan caught him and lowered hi into a chair.
MEANWHILE...
        "We're losing her! Twenty!"
        "Clear." They pressed the paddles to her chest. Nothing happened.
        "Thirty!"
        "Clear." Her heart started sporadically beating. "Got piece number five!"
~~~

        Morgan sat next to Spencer in the waiting room. He felt the same way he did. IT was his fault. he should have made her go. He should have offered her is vest.

        "Hey, man, I'm sorry about before. It's not your fault." Spencer told him.

        "Yes, it was. I could have given her my vest."

        "She wouldn't have taken it. We'd all be dead. You did your job, which is to protect people. She would have been proud."

        "Don't talk like that."

        "It's been four hours. FOUR HOURS on TWO PIECES of bullet. What do you think that means?" The doors opened and the Doctor appeared again. Spencer was terrified. He didn't know if he wanted to hear the answer.

        "Dr. Reid will make a full recovery." They all sighed in relief.

        "When can we see her?" JJ asked.

        "She should be a wake in half an hour or so." Spencer buried his face in his hands, relieved that his wife was ok. Morgan patted his back, also relieved.

~~~
        The group came in one at a time. Spencer was first.
        "That was stupid." He said.
        "Which part?"
        "All of it." He sat on the edge of her bed and she took his hand.
        "I'm ok, Spence. I'm fine."
        "That wasn't our report. They restarted your heart four times."
        "Wow, they did good!" He rolled his eyes. He but his other hand over hers.
        "I was so scared."
        "You didn't yell at Morgan did you? It was my own stupid fault."
        "I imagine that the others want to see you now." He got up.
        "Please go get some sleep." He left the room and Morgan came in.
        "Sorry." She told him. He nodded.
        "You should have seen him. Reid. the poor guy was terrified."
        "He told me. Don't beat yourself up, ok? Don't you dare do that, or I'll be the one beating you up."
        "Well-"
        "There is no 'well' Derek. It was my fault plain and simple. Don't argue with me, there is no point." He smiled.
        "For a smart girl, you really did a stupid thing." She shrugged.
        'I've been told."
~~~

        One by one the others came in.

        "When can I go home?" She asked the doctor.

        "In three weeks."

        "Nuh uh. there is no way I am staying here for three weeks."

        "Then we place you on house arrest for four." I sighed.

        "That's better then here I suppose."

~~~Three and a Half weeks later~~~
        "Are you sure?" Spencer asked. I nodded.
        "Yes, I'm sure. What kind of question is that? It's time for you to get up anyway."
        "Are you sure you don't want me to call in sick?"
        "No. They need at least one Reid there. Go!" I told him, pushing him away. He got up and walked into the bathroom. I sighed. I had three and a half more days of house arrest, and it was killing me. I hated every minute of it. I couldn't do anything! Hotch wouldn't let me hear about the cases, but Spencer would occasionally text me little snippets. Garcia brought me flowers every day, which was nice. Everyone visited me, but that was no big shock. Spencer was still mad at me, but that's to be expected I suppose. He worries constantly.
He shouldn't.
