Eric hurdled toward the planet at rapid speeds, his eyes closed the entire time. Flashbacks of when he was dropped from his apartment filled his mind, the night Shelly died and he was supposed to share the same fate. He couldn't muster up the courage to focus and summon the wings, still not sure if that would even work. Without realizing it, Eric was only hundreds of feet from Remnant and approaching rapidly. Before he could be splattered on the grass, he was caught softly in the air by Spawn's cape. Spawn didn't seem to care, but others did
"Eric, are you alright?" Scorpion asked.
"Yeah man, it looked like you were going through something bad," Robbie asked, his tone more concerned. Eric told them he was fine, though Robbie still looked slightly concerned. What followed was silence, interrupted a few times by Dante puking into a nearby river. After another few seconds, he stood up, wiping his face.
"Alright, okay I'm good," Dante said, groaning. "So, uh, are we just gonna sit here looking into each other's eyes or are we gonna do something?" Flynn clapped his hands.
"Alright, I feel like we should probably introduce ourselves, seeing that the weird god who sent us here didn't tell us who the others were." They all agreed and proceeded with his idea. After that was completed, Hanzo suggested he lead the newly formed team. While most agreed, Flynn thought he would make a better leader. After a brief argument, Hanzo agreed to hold a vote after giving background on both himself and the slayer. Needless to say, Hanzo wasn't too happy when he lost in a near landslide, but he was able to submerge his animosity.
"Okay, what I'm thinking is that one should try to scout an outpost or city or something that we can go to. So can any of you do that?" Robbie volunteered first. When questioned by Eric why he should be the one to go, Robbie chuckled. He whistled into the forest and, after a moment of awkward silence, the roar of a car was heard and the infamous dodge charger swerved through a dozen trees. Ignoring the shocked faces of his companions, he opened the door and sarcastically saluted the still-befuddled group. Robbie closed the door and drove away. After a few seconds of stunned silence, Flynn regained composure.
"Al~right. So, I guess we just have to wait for Robbie to get back. So... do whatever you want, just don't go too far." Immediately, Scorpion went around the side of the river. Flynn didn't seem to mind him exiting, Eric on the other hand was a little concerned and followed as Dante cut down a tree with his massive sword. As he rounded the corner, he saw Hanzo, eyes closed, meditating. Eric didn't want to interrupt, so he took a seat next to him. After a few minutes, Hanzo opened his eyes, prompting a question from Eric.
"Why did you feel the need to come to mediate, Hanzo?" Eric asked with slight concern. Scorpion took a deep breath.
"When Flynn surpassed me, I felt supreme anger. I recognize that it was juvenile of me, and I do feel now as though he will be a better leader, but at that moment, it felt as if another being was manipulating my thoughts." Hanzo said, hands pressed together in a resting motion.
"I understand your worry, but I wouldn't stress over it. This is a position many of us haven't been in before, so experiencing emotional alterations isn't unexpected." Scorpion stared into the water for a moment.
"Hmm, alright. Thank you, Eric." Scorpion said. Eric smiled, and the two just sat by the river for a moment, listening and watching. After about a minute, the peace was interrupted by the roar of a car engine. Eric stood up, helping Hanzo while he did.
"That must be Robbie," Eric said as the duo walked back toward their momentary camp. When they arrived they saw Robbie getting out of his car, walking toward Dante, Spawn, and Flynn, who had made a small campfire.
"Hey, I found a big city over that way," he said pointing southeast, "it's big, and probably has at least a few hotels. There's also a really big floating castle, so if I had to guess, this Ozpin guy is there." Robbie said, placing his hands on his hips. "I can probably drive a few of us but even if we cramped us all together, one of us would have to either wait here or sit on the roof or the trunk or something." Flynn raised his hand, getting the attention of the group.
