The Darkness lunged toward you. If you could see a face, you were pretty sure it would be grinning gleefully. Then all went black.

--------------------

Yuri stumbled and fell back, his mind control broken. Frankenstein was confused. What was with the sudden change in this girl's aura? It became... darker.

Dark Ace flicked her hand, another dark spear like Frankie's suddenly appearing in it.

"W-what..." Frankenstein was appalled. He was the only one who could do that!

Or at least... he was supposed to be.

This spear practically oozed power, so dark it made his own look lavender. As they clashed, Dark Ace's spear cut into Frankenstein's like metal into wood.

Black dress shoes softly tapped behind Frankenstein.

As Dark Ace took notice of him, her eyes widened and she immediately withdrew from blonde dude.

"Y-you!" When she spoke, it was as if three of her were speaking at once, the voices layering over each other.

"Wait, you know him?" Ace came back for a second.

"How do you not know him?" Darkness shot back. "He was there. That night."

Flashbacks of the night your parents died. Glass shattering, your eyes shocked into staying open. Vision blurry, but enough to see a young man with the same features as the one standing before you now. His clothes were different, mostly black instead of white. Checking to find a pulse on your parents.

"The job is done. Let us leave."

"Sir, what about the children?"

"Leave them. They will die soon since their protectors are dead. They won't be a threat."

You tried to move closer to Amelie, to try to wake her up, but you couldn't move. Your legs, numb at the time, were pinned under a large chunk of something.

"Amelie..."

Darkness. Then, grayness. Not light, exactly, but close enough.

"Can you hear me?" asked a man with gray hair as he kneeled in front of you.

You nodded.

He looked back, visibly anxious. "Where are your parents?"

You looked back where their lifeless bodies lay, little drops of red snow floating around them into the air.

The man seemed to understand. "Listen. There are bad men here to take you away. Do you want to come with me? Of course, I do expect something in return."

You were little. You didn't know what that meant. You nodded.

He easily lifted the rubble off of you. As he moved, you caught sight of a blonde man in the distance. He had long hair.. He must be the bad man.

"Can you move?" He drew your attention back to him, shaking your head. He picked you up, carrying you away from the wreckage. But...

"Amelie..."

"What?"

"Amelie." You pointed back to where your sister was. She lay still, unconscious. But she wasn't dead. You could feel it. The string in your head was still taut with her on the other side. Not like it is now.

The kind man snapped his fingers. "Yuri. Bring that girl with us."

"Yes, sir."

Darkness.

"Him," you realized. "It was him. He's the cause of all this..."

"Yes..." Darkness purred. "I'd love to kill him..."

"Wait- how do you know what happened anyway?"

"I was there. You called out to me, sister."

Amelie...?

"We will have ourselves a proper reunion soon." Amelie reassured. "After I take revenge on this little piece of- gah! What happened to your legs?!" You both suddenly collapsed, and your dark aura faded, Amelie leaving you in control of your body again. The black-haired murderer had his hand held out. You never noticed it before, but you never had feeling in your legs. No itches, no bug bites, no rashes.

Then all of a sudden pain registers.

And you fell into a spiral of darkness.
