Alex's POV:

"What the hell!?" Ben yells when Danny shoots him for the -- what seems like -- hundredth time in a row. "Just admit what everyone knows, Benjamin," the girl chuckles from beside me, "you're losing your game." "That's because you have help!" Ben retorted, motioning his hand toward me. With a smirk on my face, I help Danny kill him once more. "MOTHER FUCKING SHIT!!" Ben screams, throwing his remote onto the bed. "Woah," I chuckle, "calm down, Ben. You're going to have a heart attack." "I'm a supernatural creature. I don't have heart attacks," Ben says, sitting back down angrily. I chuckle and place my remote on the floor. "Hey, I'm sorry," Danny says from behind me, patting the sulking boy on the back. "How about you let me go change and we'll go hunt, huh?" I see Ben glance towards her then back towards the floor. "Okay," he mumbles, sitting up and turning off the Xbox. "Fine." I turn and see Danny shoot me a small grin before standing and straightening her pajama pants.

"Alright, so," she says, clapping her hands together, "c'mom, Alex. You come with me. Ben, we'll be down in ten." I look at her with a start before jumping up and racing out of the room behind her. "Danny, what the hell!?" I whisper/yell after the door closes behind us. "Shut up, woman!" she replies, moving to shift through her closet. "Why did you say I would go?" I ask, flopping onto her bed, the black duvet billowing around me. "Because I want another girl to come," she says, pulling her gray t-shirt over her head. "You've never cared about that before," I say. She shrugs, pulling a white tank-top on before taking off her pajama pants and replacing them with black leggings. "I just want you to go," she says, pulling on her combat boots. Why is she acting like this all of the sudden? I think to myself. Not wanting to be alone with her best friend? They used to be fine with each other before. I tilt my head to the side and examine her. "Uh, Alex, what the hell are you doing?" she asks, sliding her arms into a gray sweatshirt that was obviously two sizes to big.

Then it hit me. "Danny, that's Ben's," I say, pointing at it. "Yeah, so?" she asks, grabbing her knife and slipping it in the pocket. "Why... Why do you have Ben's jacket?" I ask timidly. She shrugs, "He gave it to me." I nod, quirking my eyebrow. "Danny, do you... like Ben?" I ask. She freezes. "Uh, no," she says, sliding yet another knife into her boot. "That's a stupid question, why would you ask me that? C'mon lets go." I shake my head and follow her from the room.

-----------------------------------

"Danny! Watch out!" Ben's voice rang in my ears as he yelled, a gunshot following shortly after. We had decided to attack a family living in the backroads so it'd take the cops a few days to find them. Well, turns out, Daddy had a gun. A shotgun, if we're being specific. We had been running out when he decided to follow and start shooting. I had already made it into the woods when Ben started yelling. I heard a small scream and a string of cuss words leave Danny's mouth as the two of them ran towards me. I watched her shoulder jerk forward, her hand immediately covering it.

A second gunshot rang out, this one hitting her leg. She screams and falls forward before she tries pushing herself up. Ben turns at the sound, grabbing Danny off  he ground and trying to walk her forward. I charge from the woods, throwing my knife and hitting the man in the chest. "No one shoots my friend, you sons of bitches!" I yell, grabbing Danny's other arm and wrapping it behind my neck. "Shit, he shot me," she groans. "Nah, fuck," Ben says, gently lowering her to the ground, her arm sliding from my grip. She hisses as she starts to take off her hoodie, the shoulder of it soaked with blood. I grab her arm and lift it slightly, helping her pull it off the rest of the way.

A fresh stream of blood flows down her skin, her once white tank stained with blood.

Danny's POV:
"Alex, I need you to go back to the mansion and get someone to help us carry her," Ben says, ripping piece of the hoodie and pushing my legging up to my knee, wrapping the cloth around the bullet hole. I watch as she leaves, her jacket catching in the wind. There's no exit would in your leg," Ben told me, placing his hand on my back, his fingers brushing my shoulder blade as he leaned me forward. I groan in pain, my hand -- slick with blood -- sliding along my arm, to which I instantly jerk back up. "There is in your shoulder, though," he says, sighing a little. "That means easier to stitch up." "Good," I say through gritted teeth, "now only if the damn thing would stop hurting so fucking much."

He frowned and ripped another piece of cloth from the hoodie, cautiously moving my hand away from my shoulder. "Huh," I say, groaning as he lifts my arm and begins wrapping my shoulder. "I thought you would have laughed at that." He looks at me. "This isn't a laughing matter, Danny," he says, leaning me back. I groan again, feeling sick. "Damn," I say, chuckling. "I don't think I've ever needed this much help after going out." He sighs. There is a pregnant silence. It stays like that for a minute, only to be interrupted by lights and sirens. "Fuck!" Ben exclaims, wrapping and arm around my waist and hauling me to my feet.

I groan as he moves, stumbling against him. "Shit," Ben says, wrapping his other arm around my waist, helping me regain some slight balance. There's the crunching of gravel under tires as the cops roll into the yard behind us. In a matter of seconds, Ben has me lifted into his arms, running with my head tucked against his neck. I hear voices yelling things along the lines of, "I hear them!" or "They went that way!" My heart race quickens as Ben lets my legs drop to the ground, his arm circling my waist and pressing me against his chest as he hoists himself onto a low hanging branch. "Danny, grab the branch," I hear him say through gritted teeth, "I can't lift us both." Stretching up my arm, I grab the branch, biting down on my bottom lip to hold back screams as the new wave of pain that shot through me.

Pulling up, I lift up on the branch, pulling myself up with Ben's support. "Hold on, Danny," Ben whispers, pulling me to my feet as he grips at the next branch with his free hand. "We're almost there." His words repeat themselves in my head as I grab the next branch, pulling myself up.

We're almost there.

------------

Hi guys! I'm so sorry for the long wait! I had all summer to update and I didn't. And I logged out and forgot my password for like two weeks. Then my depression got worse and was causing me not to be able to sleep at night and is making it harder not to cut. As of now I'm 85 days clean and I'm trying to keep it that way. Also I just recently started back school (I'm in my first year of high school). I'm already working on the next chapter so expect that in around three or four days, maybe less. I'll start keeping you guys updated too.

Also, yes I wanted to add a little romance thing previous readers. I felt like I needed to balance the action with some romance and drama. Trust me, though. This isn't a romance story! I just need to balance everything to make it good. There won't be very much romance involved just enough to make sure the story sounds okay. Sorry if you don't like that. Besides I can't write romance very well anyways, so yeah don't expect a lot. Maybe like some fluff every three chapters, no hardcore smutty romance.

Bye!!
