In her fifth year of Hogwarts, Jackie's meticulously planned life is upturned by a betrothal offer that seeks to tie her to Regulus Black. A boy who carries around the burden of pureblood distinction and a rival by the name of Sirius Black, who is determined to ensure that his brother doesn't end up with the girl who has been promised to him. Where Sirius is the sun, Regulus is the stars and with each passing sunrise and sunset, Jackie struggles to decipher which light she cannot live without.
Between the incoming Wizarding War, her new-found powers and the tense rivalry between two Black brothers both vying for her heart, Jackie is in for one hectic year. The pressure of the future feels as though it is resting on her very shoulders and she isn't sure how long she will last until she crumbles.
She just hopes that in end she'll find the courage to choose between bittersweet salvation or inevitable destruction.
