I was finally leaving the hospital. Now I get to deal with police, this should be great. I changed into my Adidas shorts, put on a pair of black Adidas socks and sandals, and a light hoodie. Gage carried my bag for me and we walked out. I still had a cast on my arm. I saw his Dodge Cummins sitting bright and shiny all black. "If I didn't have a broke arm I'd drive that beaut." I said laughing. "You sure they didn't give you something while being in there? Cause it is never happening." He said. I didn't know what to say back, he put his arm around me as we walked to the truck. He opened the door for me and I got in, then Morgan came running to me. "Kyla!" She yelled. "Morgan!" I yelled back. "I'm sorry for leaving you last night, Matty had family issues going on and was on the verge of doing stupid things. I'm so sorry." She said. "Morgan, I was there for three days. You could've still came to see me." I said turning to face her. "I know, I wish I did. Don't be mad at me." She begged. I started laughing. "What? What is so funny?" She asked. "You think I'm mad at you, you know me better than that. I'm not mad, I understand Matty needed you." I said. She smiled. Gage started the truck, cool air started blowing out of the vent. "Can we please get some food?" I asked him. "Anything you want." He said smiling. I looked at Morgan. "Taco Bell." We both said. "Who said you were going with us?" Gage asked. "I'm driving stupid." She said. "Meet you there." I said. I shut the door and Morgan pulled out. "She still gets on my nerves with that sass." He complained. "You never could handle her sass, nobody can. I barely do." I said. He smiled. I turned the radio on. Never Shout Never started playing. Gage hated them but knew the songs because it's what I always listened to. "I don't think I've ever been this hungry in my life. Do you hear this?" I asked. He started laughing at me. "I'm not joking."I said. "I love you." He said. "I love you too." I said. We finally made it to Taco Bell, Morgan was sitting in her Jeep with Matty leaned in the window. "Great." Gage said. "Hush and let's enjoy Taco Bell." I said. He smiled and we got out. He locked his truck and we walked in. I ordered for both of us, he paid and I got the drinks. Morgan and Matty finally walked in. Gage never liked Matty, Matty never liked Gage. It's got to be fixed. They ordered and sat down by us. Matty didn't say anything. "So how about that arm?" Matty finally asked. "It's broke." I said. He took a bite of his taco. "Okay this is just too awkward. Why do you guys not like each other?" I asked. "Tell em' Matty." Gage said. His face went red. "No. You neither one need to know about it. Gage will always hate me, nothing will change that and I don't blame him." Matty said. "Someone better tell us." Morgan said. "I will then, a few years back Matty decided it was fine to go party and get drunk then drive. He didn't wreck, but he went home got a gun and killed my brother Jamie. All because his family didn't get along with him. Still to this day, everyone hates Matty. Why do you think nobody goes out with him or does anything." Gage said gettting up. Morgan and I both were speechless. I got up and went to Gage. "Sometimes you've got to let things go. This may be hard to do, but you have to do it. Matty shouldn't have been drunk to begin with. We both know how people get when they're like that." I said. He hugged me. "It's okay, I promise. But let it go." I said. He smiled slightly. We walked back in. "I'm sorry, I really am. I shouldn't have gotten drunk that night. I regret doing it." Matty said. "Just stop, drop it and don't talk about it anymore." Gage said. "So can we all be friends?" Morgan said. We smiled so I guess everyone can be friends finally. We left and went back to my house. Morgan pretty much lived with me. She ran away from home and came to me, that's when we decided to move to Florida. Her mom didn't want her any longer. Morgan called me and had her bags packed when I made it to her house. We left and came here. Now her mom is trying to get her back, but too bad she can't.
"Who wants to go for a swim?" Morgan asked. Mom and dad walked in at that point. "I don't think anyone will be going swimming. Morgan's mother is on the phone and wants to talk to her." Dad said. Morgan went to the phone. "Hello Shelby." Morgan said. "Morgan you need to come back home. I" Morgan cut her off. "Come back so your husband and you can make fun of me, put me through more hell before I'm 18? I'll pass, but don't you even dare think I want to come back or even miss you. You betrayed me and now you think I'm coming back after what you've pput me through. I'd rather sit through a lecture on politics than to even spend one day with you. Bye Shelby." She said handing the phone up. "So swimming?" She said. We changed and ran to the pool. Of course i couldn't actually enjoy swimming but I got to tan so it was okay. Mom and dad walked out to the deck. "What now?" Morgan said. "Watch it." Dad said. She went under water. When she came back up mom started talking. "Okay, so we're gonna go out tonight. We will be eating kinda fancy tonight. Kyla dress as girly as you can please. Morgan no big pearls. Don't even back talk on that. As for the boys, we will be taking them to actually shop for better looking clothes. No offense." Mom said. Nobody knew what to say. "What time is this happening?" I asked. "We will be leaving at 8:20. Be ready, clean, and not looking like a tom boy." She said walking back in the house. "Why does she not understand tom boy is all I am? Dad you taught me to be that way." I said. "Hush, she already knows. She just wants to leave a good impression on these people because they offered her a higher paying job. But we will not be leaving Florida." He said walking away. "Well what are we gonna do?" Morgan asked. "I'd say party but ya know." I said. "How about we go to a party, no alcohol?" Matty suggested. We all looked at him. "I'm being serious." He said. "Where is it?" I asked. "It's up 1081, Jellico Lake." He said. "That calls for alcohol, trust me." I said. We decided to just go drive around separately. Matty and Morgan went to the park. It was a little date. Matty brought Taco Bell for her. The love she has for that place is unreal. "So tell me, what do you want to do?" Morgan asked. "Uhm, how about we just go drive around? Get some Sweet Frog, then go get ready for tonight?" Matty said. "Yeah, cause they've still got to take you and Gage clothes shopping." Morgan said. "Oh how I dread that." He said. Morgan laughed and they went to get Sweet Frog. They sat in the back of Matty's truck and watched the traffic go by in the parking lot. "What are we even doing?" She asked. "Having a fun time." He said. It was 6:30, they got ready to leave. Matty helped Morgan get out of the back of the truck and opened her door for her. Gage and I were at the house waiting for them to get back. Mom was getting mad because they still weren't back. But she lived because they finally walked through the door. "Let's go now." Mom said pushing them out the door. "We have the house to ourselves, let's go do something.' I said. We made sure mom and dad were gone. Morgan turned the tv on and I got ready. After I took my shower Morgan took one. She helped me pick out my clothes. "Eww, a dress, you're kidding me." I said. "Hush, I'm doing what I was told." She said. I went to change and it actually suited me. Black dress and heels. Oh man tonight is the night I die. Morgan started drying her hair while I done my make-up. She curled her hair and I straightened mine. She had on a dress as well and flats. "Why do I have to wear heels?" I asked. "Uhm, Gage is way taller than you. Walking there with you below his armpit does not look the best. Tell the dude to shrink a little." She said. "Don't yell at me." I said. By the time we were ready they all walked in the house. "Oh my god Morgan, you got a dress on her and heels?" Mom said. "Yeah, trust me she complained the whole time." Morgan said. I walked to dad. "So how does Gage look?" Dad asked. "Are you sure you want me to answer that in front of you?" I asked. "True, don't tell me, tell your mother." He said walking away. "Dang." I said. Mom smiled. "Matty you just, wow." Morgan said. We neither have seen them two dressed up as much as they were. "So are we all set?" Mom asked. We all said yes, so we walked out to the Hummer. "Dear lord." Matty said. "When did they get a Hummer?" Morgan asked. "I do not know honestly." I said. We pulled out of the drive-way and to a restaurant that read Cicada. "Mom do you honestly thinkI'm gonna know what to order?" I asked. "Hush, just order a salad." She said. "Does it look like I want to eat just a salad? No. I want some ribs or a steak." I said. "Oh my god. David tell her something please." She said. "Forget it." I said. We got out and walked in, we sat in front of four other people. Two men stood up. "Hello, I'm Mr. Lambert, Joshua Lambert. This is my wife Catherine, my son Harry, and my daughter Josie." He said shaking our hands. "I see you broke your arm?" He asked. Dear God do not let me be a smart ass to this man. "Yes." I said. "How did you do that?" He asked. "It don't matter." I said. Sorry mom my business not his. "Well, are we ready to order?" He asked. I let dad order for us all. "Oh my, are you eating two steaks David?" Catherine asked. "No." He said. Mom gave him a look. He smiled, she took a sip of water. "Where are my manners, I didn't introduce my family." Dad said. "Joshua this is my wife Mary, daughter Kyla, her friend Morgan, and these two gentlemen are their boyfriends you could say. Gage, and Matty." Dad finished. "Well, I believe you've got yourself a very nice looking family along with friends." Catherine said. Josie kept giving Matty looks, Morgan noticed. "Let it go." I whispered to Morgan. Her face was getting red. She noticed Harry had barely took his eyes off her the entire time. Thankfully the food came out. "Ah, now I see who ordered the steak." Joshua said. "What can I say, she's just like me." Dad said. I smiled and started cutting my steak, mom getting more and more embarrassed. I told dad Morgan wanted a steak too, not long after her steak came along. "You all are a bunch of eaters. But I have enjoyed this dinner with you all. Mary I would like to see you in my office Tuesday morning at 9:25 a.m sharp. Congratulations." Joshua said. Mom smiled. "I will be there, thank you." She said. "Well I would love to do this again. But it is getting late, and they will be closing very shortly. It was nice meeting you all. Have a safe night." Joshua said. Harry wrote his number down and passed to me to give to Morgan. I was in shock but I wasn't giving it to her until we made it home. Matty was a bit sneaky and slipped his number to Josie as well. Oh man this night. We left and went back home. "I cannot believe you ordered steaks for them." Mom said. "I wasn't listening to them complain about being hungry tonight, Joshua is happy and you got the job so let it go." Dad said. "Zayum." I said. Mom gave me the "I'm going to beat you" when we get home look. I smiled at her and got out since we finally made it home. "Netflix and my bed sounds pretty amazing right now." I said. I went upstairs and changed into shorts and a t-shirt as well as everyone else did. Great night. Now what to do about Morgan, Harry, and Matty..
