"No! Leave her alone! Stop!" Morgan yelled. I had no idea what was happening. I passed out. I opened my eyes, I was lying in a bed with I.V's in my arm and one in my hand. What happened now? Did I get in a fight and come out losing? A nurse walked in. "It's great to see that you're awake. I'm sure you don't know what exactly happened, so I will explain. You and Morgan were walking back to the vehicle when a few men tried picking you both up, you're pretty tough though. You knocked them out as well. Morgan was fine just a few bruises and cuts. You are a pretty great friend, defending Morgan even though she said she could've handled it herself. I'm going to let your family walk in if you want." she finally finished. I nodded my head yes. She smiled and walked out, Morgan and Gage were the first ones to make it to me. "Oh my god, how stupid are you?" Morgan yelled. "Yell at me again and I'll go fight someone again." I said raising up."Lay back down." Morgan said. "Don't tell me what to do.' I said. Gage started laughing. Then my mom and dad walked in. "What do you think you were doing? You could have got killed, why didn't you call someone?" Mom asked yelling. "Maybe because I was actually trying to get away from them to call someone but when someone is attacking you what are you supposed to do? Get your phone out and say Hey hold up let me call my mom." I said. "Kyla." My dad spoke. "Of course, take her side for every damn thing." I said. I grabbed my phone and saw 25 missed calls from dad, 64 missed calls from Gage, and 89 missed calls and 34 texts from mom. "You better change your attitude." Mom said. I rolled my eyes. Gage still hadn't said anything. I looked at him, he walked over to me and kissed my forehead. "I love you." he whispered while mom and dad weren't looking. I smiled, then I fell back asleep.

I was asleep for 12 hours, nurses came in and out to change my I.V's and occasionally wake me up to get water and eat. I always loved hospital food, I was beyond ready to go home, sleep in my own bed, watch Netflix, and cuddle with Buddy my puppy. But the doctor made it clear that wasn't about to happen. I had a broke arm, severe headaches, and losing too much blood. I would be leaving within 2 days or more so that was okay with me. Gage and Morgan stayed the night with me. I was finally able to raise up slightly enough to look at them completely. "Guys, stop looking at me like I'm about to die." I said. "Well you almost did if you would have lost any more blood." Gage said. "Hush." I said. Morgan's phone started ringing. "Okay, I'll be there in 10.' She said hanging up. "Matty?" I asked. She nodded her head yes and walked out. "Try to defend her, yet she runs off to Matty." I said. Gage walked over pulling a chair up by me. "Don't worry about it. I'm here now and always will be. I just wish I wouldn't have let you walk out by yourselves that night." He said putting his head down. "It's okay, don't worry about it." I said. A nurse walked in. "Could i by any chance get out of this room and walk around some?" I asked. "Yes you can, let me hook your I.V's to a roller." She said. She came back and hooked bags to the top hooks and I walked out of the room with Gage. I saw ice cream and about died. "I'll be right back." He said. I sat down. I noticed four guys walking in. I got up walking to Gage. I couldnt find him. "Gage!" I screamed. He came running around the corner. "What's wrong?" He asked worried. "Those are the four guys that Morgan and I fought. Or tried at least." I said. His face went red, we followed them to the front desk. "How may I help you?" The woman said. "We're looking for Kyla Dotson." One spoke. We walked on past them, Gage was already calling the hospital ahead to let them know what was going on. Next thing I see is police everywhere once we got to my room. They had the four guys on the floor. "Oh God." Is all I knew to say. "So does this mean you guys are going to ask me questions?" I asked one officer. "We have to." One said. We walked back into the room. Gage stayed outside the door. "So can you tell us what happened exactly?" One asked. "Well me and a friend were leaving The Mall, once we reached the vehicle those four guys tried picking us up. I fought with them and tried helping her as well. I was knocked out, I don't remember what happened afterwards." I finished finally. "Who was your friend?" They asked. The one thing I didn't want to have to tell them. "Morgan Jacobs." I said. "Thank you. We will be taking these four to jail for sure tonight. Get better soon Kyla.: They said leaving. Gage walked in, I was tired of not getting to lay my head on him. I made room so he could be there right by me. I fell asleep to the sound of his heartbeat.
