My life changed when I saw the little plus sign
I knew I had to start walking the narrow, straight line
Nine months later you came into this world
Never knew love till I saw your little, sweet face
Skin as soft as feather, hair as soft as lace
Hearing your first cry melted my heart
My journey through motherhood was just about to start
I recall the day I first brought you home for good
You looked so precious sleeping from where I stood
Fast forward a couple of months later, you a few more months older
Crawling everywhere, getting into everything, attitude more bolder
No time for cuddles or hugs
The place to be for you was crawling on the rugs
Now you’re into walking, constantly on the go
Always wanting your way, hate hearing the word no
Curious you are, into everything and anything
Loving anything that lights up or makes a ding
Music of all sorts entertains you
So does your aunts chasing you while saying ‘boo’
You’re not into saying sentences, only a few words
My favorite being Mommy.
I hate that you’re growing up so fast
So many precious memories come to mind from the past
You will always be my baby boy to hold and to keep
For you, my son, my love runs deep.
