6 - Jöel Matip

My best friend, Joel! My boyfriend, Joel! My daughters dad, Joel! My Joel! Was leaving for 3 days...

He had a huge game over in Austria, our daughter Olivia was just in the area of her age, were she was going to say her first words.

Joel was gutted that he would miss her first words, he really wanted her to say dada but I had a feeling her words would be mama.

Right now, Olivia and I were sat in her room playing with a couple of her toys. She started to mumble, she had been doing this for a couple of days, and this is what made us think she was going to say her first couple of words.

"Come on then, say mama!" I started to encourage her. She stumbled over and took a seat next to me. She carried on mumbling, so I decided to facetime Joel so he wouldn't miss out.

"Hello?" He said down the other line.

"Hey babe, sorry if your busy, but I think Olivia might say her first words." I explained to him then turned around the camera.

"Oo, come on Olivia say dada!!" He shouted down the line.

"Mmmmm" she started to say.

"Go on Olivia!!" I said again.

"Dada!!!" She said excitedly when she saw him on my phone.

"Wow." I said sadly.

"YES OLIVIA!!!!!!" Joel said jumping up and down. Olivia then too my phone off me and started jumping up and down with her dad. Until, it all went down hill when she accidentally hit herself with the phone, she was sat on the bed watching tellitubbis on the TV while still on facetime with Joel, she was crying for about half an hour.

"You feeling better now Olivia?" Joel asked. But even mentioning the accident made her burst into tears again. I was sat behind her cuddling her.

Whenever Joel tried to leave, she would just cry again.

Luckily her crying stopped after a while and we were playing with her toys again. Joel manged to sneak off.

A couple days later:

I was sat downstairs with Olivia and she was watching tellitubbis again, I was trying to hid the fact that Joel should be home any second. Just so he could surprise Olivia.

I heard the door open. "I'm home!" I heard him shout. Olivia jumped from the sofa and ran to the front door.

"DADA!!!" She shouted.

"Thats my girl!!" Joel replied.
