Chapter 9: Making Sense

* Annie's POV *

Micah walked into my room about 5 minutes after Riley left. It didn't look like he had been cry, but he looked upset.

"Hey Micah, you alright? " I asked.  Of course he wasn't,  but I am being polite.

"Yeah, I guess." He mumbled,  while shutting the door behind him.

He looked miserable.

"So, what happened?" I already know but I want to hear his side of the story.

"Well, my girlfriend Summer, said she would hookup with Noah and breakup with me if he embarrassed you before school starts. As you can see, he did." At that point a single tear rolled down his face.

"You really loved her, huh?" Stupid, stupid thing to say.

"Yeah, but over the past few weeks she became distant 'cause I wouldn't have sex with her. I guess in that few weeks I got to know someone else, but know I don't have a chance."

"Don't give up so quick. That someone might say yes." I said reassuringly.

"That someone..." Micah paused. "Is you."

Before I could say anything, his lips smashed against mine. Without thinking twice, I kissed back.

This kiss was nothing like I expected. It was needy. Desperate.

After about a minute I pulled away. My eyes had welled up with tears of confusion.

I quickly left the room, faintly hearing Micah say: "I love you".

Micah's POV

I don't know what to do with this feeling.

I just hurt Annie.

It hurts to think about her.

Her delicate face.

Her sweet laugh.

Her amazing eyes.

Her.

I don't know if this is love, but if it is, it hurts.

I need her.

I wrote a note and left it under her phone. I hope it works. Thank you Noah, thank you. Even though I hate you, thank you.

I walked out of her room and found her sitting down outside the door with her head in her lap.

"I'm sorry." I whispered.

She looked up at me with those innocent eyes and just stared.

"It's alright." She said, looking away.

"Annie, would you like to go on a date with me?" Shoot. Before I had even comprehended what I was thinking, my mouth just opened up and spoke.

"I mean..." I was just off by Annie.

"Sure, where are we going to go though?" She said yes?

"Well that's a surprise." Actually I just have to figure it out, first.

"Ok." She stood up and gave me a quick hug before walking into her room amd shutting the door behind her.

Now, time to tell Riley. Be prepared for all hell to break loss.
