*Can you survive the night?*

I heard a faint scream in the distance.

"HELLO? ANYONE THERE?" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

No response.

I decided that it would be best to travel in the direction of the sound,

Maybe I wasn't alone here after all...

I looked down at my clothes. They were covered in wet sand, and clearly not made for this sunny weather... I was wearing a thick, green hoodie and long denim pants... I walked over to the edge of the forest, searching for a sharp rock.

"Yes! Found it!"I exclaimed.

Taking off my pants -since there was no one around- I swiftly cut them, so they turned into shorts and took off my hoodie, leaving me in a black shirt, self-made denim shorts, and sturdy sneakers.

I made my way to the forest, picking up some big banana leaves to carry things in, and entering the forest looking for food.

"Why does it have to be so hot here? Couldn't they have dropped me off on an island with a mediocre climate? UGHH!"

Quickly I found some coconuts, bananas, and berries. I decided to make a fire because the sun started to set already, and the temperature quickly dropped.

After gathering all kinds of small branches and twigs, I tried making a campfire.

But, no luck...

I decided to just eat a banana and go to sleep cocooning myself in my hoodie for some warmth, swiftly drifting off to sleep, dreaming about that scream I heard earlier today.

I hope the person it belonged to is okay...

Crap! WHO am I?!

I tried remembering things that had happened before but couldn't. It was like I had only started creating memories the second I got on this godforsaken island. I looked around, taking in my surroundings once more before I heard it, a soft, quiet scream.

I'm not alone!

I started walking toward the silent sound I had just heard seconds before. I didn't care about setting up camp, or about eating, or dangerous animals that could roam this forest at night. All I cared about was finding out who that scream belonged to.

I kept screaming into the area packed with trees and all sorts of plants. Not hearing a response again. The sun set, but I was not going to give up that fast, I was not going to wait till tomorrow. God, for all I knew, if I didn't find this person now, I could be dead by tomorrow.

Suddenly, I saw her, in my head. A memory resurfacing, like a bubble floating up in the water, like a bird taking off into the air.

It was a woman, with the sweetest smile I had ever seen. She looked at me with loving and caring eyes. I looked down and noticed a wound on my knee. I was crying. Warm tears running down my cheeks. The woman bent down and laid her hand on my head as she said with a calming and soothing voice: "Oh baby, don't cry, don't cry my darling. Come, let's go home, then we'll get you cleaned up, and we'll try the cycling again tomorrow. Okay, Liam?" She picked me up and all I saw was a white light. Then she was gone.

I snapped back to reality, puffy eyes, wet cheeks, tears still running down my face and dripping down on the forest floor.

But I remembered the strange but sweet lady. She called me Liam...

"MY NAME IS LIAM!" I shouted full of happiness, yet sadness because there was this other feeling I had with this woman. I knew her, but at the same time, it felt like I didn't anymore.

I positioned myself against a tree after climbing it and let my head hang low as drifted off to sleep.

Only thinking about the mysterious woman from my memory.

I shot straight up as I heard yet another cry, hitting my head against the tree behind me.

"Ouch... that hurts... UGH! STUPID TREE!"

My head was pounding, but I was positive of one thing:

That recent cry was way closer than the one I heard at the beach.

I stood up gripping the tree trunk for balance.

I decided to try and make a fire again because it would enable me to examine my surroundings. This time, however, a small plume of smoke originated out of the wood and the fire grew rapidly.

I took a large stem and wrapped my cut-off trouser part around it before lighting it on fire to use as a torch. I slowly and cautiously walked in the direction of the noise. But didn't see anything.

I decided I should get a good rest because tomorrow was going to be a long day. I looked for a good tree and leaned against it as I closed my eyes while unanswerable questions taunted my mind.

Who am I?

Where am I?

Who else is here?

What does that person know?

Is he or she even doing okay?
