Hunter's pov

(Friday)

I go up the three steps. I don't want to knock on this door but I just want to know where she is so I can talk to her. So with a steady hand, I knock.

Few seconds pass and I hear someone walking towards the door. I really hope he doesn't-

"What do you want?"

Bad luck. It is him. Marcus, that asshole.

"I just want to know if Ginny is here. Or if you have seen her?"

I haven't spoken to her since Sing Sing and I really want to talk to her and because she wasn't at her house I thought she would maybe be here, talking with Max or something. I want to tell her how I feel and hear what she has to say. We could maybe even work it out. I hope we do. I want to be good for her, make her happy.

"No, she isn't here," he answers, not seeming to care one bit.

"And have you seen her by any chance?"

"Yes, a few hours ago at her house. She said she was going to the town hall or something. Is that everything you want to know?"

I don't have to worry just yet. Like Marcus just said, she can be at the election, supporting her mom.

"Yeah, I guess-"

"Okay, bye," he snaps before he closes the door in my face.

I really don't know why he is being so rude to me. If anything should be rude to him. He is the jerk in this situation. He is the one that was screwing around with my girlfriend.

I turn back around and make my way back. I won't waste my time on that prick. I don't expect him to be any help.

I arrive back home and go straight to my bedroom. I jump on my bed and take my phone out of my pocket. I should send her a message, ask her if she is okay and if we can talk.

To Ginny

Hey, it's me. Just wanted to check if you're okay. I also want to ask you if we could talk maybe?

Send.

I don't know how she'll take my text. But I hope she can give me a chance since I want to give her one too.

Marcus' pov

(Sunday)

I have just been laying in bed for the past two days. I don't feel like doing anything. It's like there is no energy left in my body. Maybe it has to do with Ginny. I talked to her the day of the election before that asshole came knocking at my door. I wanted to talk with her, work things out. I haven't heard from her tho. I guess she just needs time for herself.

In the middle of my thoughts, I hear a knock on my bedroom door.

"Come in," I say in a weak voice.

My mom pokes her head through the door. She is still isn't happy about my behavior but I don't need her to be. Eventually, she will come around because 'she can't bear it anymore' or something.

"Marcus, the police are here. They would like to ask you some questions."

"The police?"

"Yes, the police. So If you would just get up and go talk to them."

I have no idea what the police are doing here. Did I do something and just forget about it?

"Sure, whatever."

I threw my duvet off me and my legs off the bed. I take some decent clothes out of my closet and put them on. I have been in sweats and a baggy t-shirt all morning.
