Wasting time is what we do best. We all know we live a short life, but not all of us don't do something to make the most of it. This is supposed to be an eye-opening experience... but the sentimental effect you are looking for does not exist. In the world we live in, nothing is as it seems. This is not your typical, every day, teenage romance. Welcome to the rollercoaster ride that will make you question your true being and touch that ghosted side of you that you try so hard to hide. As you may think that this is my story, in fact, is ours. Before we get this lovely acid trip started, please keep all hands and feet inside the moving vehicle at all times.

We're born, we grow into teenagers, then adults, and then we die. We are reminded of this every time someone is brought into this and when someone is taken out, but for me, I am reminded of this cycle every day. My name is Scarlet Red Burns, but you may call me Scar. I am a senior in high school, the walls I keep around myself are strong and unwavering, I take pleasure in being underestimated, and I can either be your worst nightmare or your best friend. In this moment, the person you think you know, does not exist yet.

The day I met them I knew nothing would be the same. It was a warm, sunny, fall day, and I went to the park that was across from my school to go for a walk after I sat down on the swings to do my homework. By the time I got to the park, that's when I saw them. They were in a huddle -like stance. They didn't look any different from the typical teenager my age, but as I walked by, I noticed that they talked about things foreign to the average teen like chemical equations and balancing out elements. Although I know some things on that subject, my ambiverted ass decided to go up to them and say "hi". Now, this is where things get twisty. We all stood there in silence until one of them asked me, "How well is your knowledge on Europium?". I guess to their surprise, they were talking about one of my many favorite elements. To clear the air, I am a geeky nerd that has a love for risking my life by my own free will and art. After the conversation, we did what normal people do when they meet someone new, we introduced ourselves. That's when I met Jay, Claw, Tyran, Ruby, and Dusk. I will get into them later. As of this moment, they love chemistry, physics, building, creating, destruction, and weapons. When we finished with our conversation about elements, we all started walking and went somewhere a person like us would call heaven. We went to an abandoned chemistry lab on the other other side of town where nobody went, in the middle of the woods. Most people would call us insane because of the rumors about the other side. A normal person also wouldn't typically go anywhere with people they just met, but I'm me and I was happy to go somewhere with my new acquaintances. Moreover, they didn't look like they would kidnap anyone; plus, they asked me if I wanted to come.

A few things about the group, Jay loves to make weapons. He has his own room in the lab with his own stash of everything he created over time. No one is allowed to go in there without his ok. He is also a science geek, which is why we got along, most of the time. Jay is somewhat of the man you don't want to mess with. He hates it when you push his buttons and when you don't do what he tells you. Claw is artistic, kinda like the secondhand man if we were in a mafia, one. He is also very fashionable and has a great taste in everything. We get along great, and we always have each other's back. Tyran, well we'll have to get into him later. All you need to know is that he is not the one to mess with. He isn't the type to hurt anyone from what I've seen, but if you do or say anything that goes against him, he will know and you won't survive. Other than that, he's a pretty chill and sweet guy. Next you have Ruby. Ruby is the badass in the group. We are best friends because both of us have a thing for explosives and weapons, and everything in between. Plus, we know how to put people in their place using our words without threatening them. Lastly, you have Dusk. He is Jay's cousin, but they look nothing alike. Also, he's more nice and lenient towards people. He is also good at reading everyone. That's how I was able to be friends and go to the lab with them. Dusk is somewhat like Jay when it comes to weapons and explosives and every type of science. One important thing you need to keep in mind with Dusk is that he will not hesitate to kill if you do something to put the group in danger. The leader of this group because there always seems to be one, is the one and only Jay. When we got to the lab, it reminded me of a house that you would see in a horror film, but for some reason, I felt safe. That being said, it was probably a house once upon a time. The lab didn't look super old, though. It had a few vines that went all the way up to the very top window and bushes alongside the exterior. When I walked in through the wooden, slightly old door, there was a huge crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling that lit up the whole house. There was an office on the right side and a dining room that was all decorated like people were coming over for a holiday on the left side of the foyer. I guess I was taking forever to get in because Jay came up to me with an annoyed expression on his face and told me to follow him. We went up the stairs that reminded me of the ones you would see in a wealthy person's house, then we went through a slightly narrow hallway; passing a few rooms along the way, and we ended up at a room at the end of the hallway. Jay didn't say a word, but he opened the door and walked away. I didn't know if I did anything wrong or not, but I didn't say anything except thanking him before he walked away. Inside the room that Jay left me at, was really big. It had its own bathroom and a bed already made. The room had a medium chandelier that had crystal like structures hanging down from the bottoms of where each lightbulb was. It had its own bathroom and a bed already made. There were five rooms. In one room, there was a long, wide table with chemistry, woodwork, engineering, auto parts, robotics, and metal supplies on it. The floor was what appeared to be wooden but was actually concrete. In the room across from it, was a walk-in closet, but it was completely empty. I could tell that the room used to belong to someone that did or wore makeup because there was a 2017 Covergirl Mascara and a few other makeup items that looked like it hasn't been touched for years on a dresser. There was a room on the right side slightly diagonal from the bed. In the room, there were boxes stacked all the way to the back of the room. In the boxes were all the elements on the periodic table. The boxes were labeled by the elements. The other two rooms had shelves with elements and different types of liquids and powders. After I looked around, I went right to work on the one thing I've always wanted to build. After fifteen minutes, I built a lightsaber that works the same way it would in the movies with sound effects. Before I knew it, I was working on my third lightsaber. While I was setting up the circuit, I realized there was someone else in the room with me. I didn't really mind, until I saw Jay in my peripheral, looking completely pissed and annoyed. He looked at me directly in my eyes, with his annoyed expression more visible, and asked, "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" I didn't know what to say without a snarky tone in my voice, but I didn't really care because I didn't do anything wrong. I just looked back at him and simply said, "I was building something, but I don't know what I did that would bother you. But if you don't mind, I would like to go back to what I was working on." He looked at me even more annoyed and pissed. He walked up to me and said, "You don't know me, but if I were you, I wouldn't talk to me like that." I started to get annoyed with him, and watched him about to walk away. As soon as he turned his back, I said with an even more sassy tone in my voice, "I don't know you, and you clearly don't know me. Plus, you don't scare me, so you might want to stop the big bad boy act since it doesn't work." He looked at me and rolled his eyes, then he walked away. I know I should probably be terrified of him, but hey should I when he hasn't given me a reason to be. Instead of wasting my time thinking about what happened, I went back to work on my lightsaber. Then I heard the door close, and I said, "If you've come back to try and scare me, I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but it won't work." After I said that sentence, I realized it was Claw that walked in. I apologized quickly, and while being completely embarrassed, I went back to work. I thought he was going to have the same reaction as Jay, but instead he just said, "I heard your conversation with Jay, are you okay? I know you don't know us, but would you like to spend the night since we don't have school tomorrow and you get to know us better?" I was surprised that he offered me to spend the night and that he asked if I was okay. I looked at him and replied, "Sure." I didn't know what I was getting myself into, but I called my parents asking if it was okay if I spent the night over at one of my friend's house. I knew they would be okay with it, but I wanted them to know where I was.
