Love Or Hate

" I like you, more than just friends" Kairi confess. Sora stayed silence, for so long he had dream of this to happen. A month ago he would have said he like her too but now he couldn't. He loved Roxas.

"I'm flatter but I don't feel the same way about you"

"You have feelings for someone else?" The brunet nodded "Its kinda obvious sometimes" she wanted that to sound playful but she sounded hurt and on the verge of tears.

"Kai-"

"Well I have to go, you know, long walked home. Bye" Kairi said this with a fake smile, the ginger was trying so hard to be strong and not cry. As soon as she was out of sight, Kairi ran as fast as her legs could take her. She knew what Sora was gonna say. So why did it hurt so much. Oh how she wished it was raining that way no one would notice her tears.

Unknowingly Kairi started running to the house of the only other person besides Sora that understood her, Riku.

"Kairi, whats wrong?" Riku let her to the living room. The red head was a total disaster, her eyes were puss and red, marks of tears that had run down her cheeks and the miserable look she wore on her face. Truthfully Riku couldn't take it, for him seeing her the way she was right now. It was breaking his heart.

"I told him" she manage to say between sobs. " I... Was rejected"

"Oh" aside from not knowing what to do, he was shocked. Riku knew she was talking about Sora, he also knew that Sora had a crush on her. So why would he reject her?

"I told him because... I thought this would help me get over him, but all I'm thinking right now is 'why don't you love me? Why did you have to chose someone else?' Maybe things would have been different if I had confess sooner" her voice was getting weaker and harder to understand. The knot in her throat didn't permit her to speak anymore.

Riku did the only thing he could do. He hugged her and let her cry.

"Emergency!!" Namine ran through the cafeteria. "Guys I need your help!" She ran to Riku and Kairi. The duo had been eating and chatting "She coming back!"

"Namine explain calmly, who's coming?" Riku sat her down

"Our grandmother" Namine was afraid, so very afraid. You see all the artifacts and nick-nacks she used at her store did not belong to her, they were her grandmother's collection. She was a remarkable woman, who travel the world collecting objects believe to have magical properties. Now said collection was out of order and dusty.

"You're dead" as her cousin Kairi knew all this, she had warned the blond about it but she didn't listen. Kairi was going to ignore her cousin but then thought this could be a good distraction "I'll help you clean" she offered, maybe the hard work would make her forget a bit.

"Great! Sora, Axel and Xion are helping too" and with that been said, her hopes of forgetting died. Riku gave her a worry look, Kairi just looked at him with a small smile. "I'll go too"

"Oh my gosh! Thanks thanks thanks. If only Roxas could go. Then the whole group would be together" At least Kairi didn't have to deal with the face Sora always makes when he sees Roxas.

After school everyone headed straight to the white witch store. As for Roxas he had a family meeting to attend. He didn't want to go, he knew what would happen. Both his parents would look at him with disapproving eyes.

He was so sure of this that when he was receive with a warm smile and a hug from his father, he was beyond shock. Who were this people and what did they do to his parents?!? "Uh....." This show of affection was so new to him. Roxas was at a lost for words.

"Roxas, we are sorry" His mother said. She was a tall woman, with black hair brown eyes.

"What... Ok seriously, who are you people?"

"We are your parents." His father said. His blue eyes finally showing kindness and affection. "We have pushed you so hard and we neglected you for so many years."

"There's no excuse for what we did. Thanks to some people we met on our last trip and seeing as how a kid recently ran away." Roxas was surprise they knew about Sora, then again this was a small town. "We came to realize what we were doing was wrong"

"And we are truly sorry" Roxas had wish so many times to hear this.

His father's eyes took on a serious look "Now I wanted to talk to you about a important matter. I receive a business proposal that will require for us to move to Radiant Garden"

"I knew this all was too good to be true"

His mother chuckle "Your father is not done yet dear"

Roxas' father look him straight in the eyes and said "I want to give you a chance to choose. Since your mother is my business partner she has to go with me, but you don't. Do you want to stay or go with us?" His parents didn't want to force him to leave, they were determine to mend their relations with their son.

As for the teens cleaning the store everything was great, except for the awkward tension between Kairi and Sora.

Kairi had just finish organizing some of the objects, when she's felt the need to take a break and drink water. As she made her way to the kitchen, she heard voices coming from one of the rooms. Upon hearing her name she stop to eavesdrop.

"Look Sora. I'm not mad, just confuse" she heard Riku say. "A month ago you wouldn't shut up about how much you like her, now this. Answer me this sincerely and I'll leave this alone. Do you still like her?" He sounded perplexed.

Silence filled the room, Kairi didn't know if it was because he was thinking about it or he actually still had feelings for her.

After some time he answer "I don't know" Sora was not sure why he said this, maybe it was the confusion of it all, or maybe it was just how guilty he felt about making Kairi sad, but it a respond he soon would regret.
