"I can't believe I'm even considering this," you thought to yourself as you and Lily headed towards Karasuno's volleyball gym. When you figured out you weren't going to be going to Aoba Jousai, you decided you weren't going to play on Karasuno's volleyball team. There was no way you could even think of playing against your friends from Kitagawa First. ...Right ?
Yet when that idiot of a boy hit you in the face with his volleyball, something in you wondered if he'd be on the team. And that something made you want to go find out. You weren't planning on joining, but you were still curious to see if he was on the team, so you walked into the gym with Lily anyways.
Your eyes moved quickly across the gym. You acknowledged the two people playing on the court, but didn't give them much thought. There were three guys speaking to the vice principal near the front of the gym: one with short brown hair, one with silk-like grey hair, and one with a shaved head. Assuming one was the captain, you decided to head over to them. "Let's go over there then," you said, pointing to the group.
"Alright..." Lily responded, but her eyes were on one of the guys playing on the court.
The next few seconds seemed to move in slow motion. As you and Lily approached the group who hadn't noticed you yet, you decided to look who was playing on the court. A really short orange-haired boy was yelling at the other person who was tall with familiar jet-black hair. And in an instant you knew.
It was him.
And as you looked at him, his eyes met yours, and just like that morning, he lost control of the ball.
It went flying. Right towards the vice principal.
Before you knew what you were doing, your legs started moving quickly, and you were running towards the group that was completely unaware a volleyball was headed their way. Just as it was about to hit the vice principal in the head, you jumped in front of the man.
And caught it.
Landing on your feet, you sighed, relieved that you had stopped an awful scene from unfolding. You turned to see the group of three boys and the principal all staring at you with eyes as wide as dinner plates. Blush began to spread across your cheeks as you realized what had just happened, so instead of dealing with them, you turned towards the court. With the room still silent, you uttered "I believe this belongs to you, asshole." And served the ball to the black-haired boy, hitting the ball on the last word.
"Damn, that one was kind of weak," you mumbled, turning around, not bothering to see the boy's reaction. Smoothing out your skirt, you looked to the group that was now in front of you again, still silent, but now mouth's agape. "Sorry about that. I just saw the ball coming and thought I would try to stop it," you explained, bowing to the four. "Didn't exactly mean to make a scene..."
"No no! Thank you very much." The vice principal thanked. "No need for you to apologize Miss..?"
"l/n," You muttered, still afraid you would be in trouble.
"Well I must be off now, Miss l/n. Thank you again." The vice principal stated. "Sawamura, I trust you will deal with those boys?" The man questioned, pointing to the two boys on the court behind you.
"O-of course sir," the guy you assumed to be Sawamura, and possibly the captain stuttered. "So sorry about that."
The vice principal hummed a response and turned to walk out without saying another word, and once again, the room was silent.
