(Alyssa's POV)

Great another boring year of school, and you know whats worse? I'm a freshman which pretty much means based on how popular i was before being the underdog again I'm not going to make it out of this year alive.

"Alyssa hurry up. You don't want to be late on your first day of high school do you?" my mom yelled from across the house.

"I'm coming I'm coming." I said as i was running down the stairs.

"Aw well don't you look pretty. You're going to make so many friends.' I sighed when i heard this. We do this every year, she assures me I'll make friends, and i have to remind her about the past school years of mine.

"Mom, we've been over this. I just don't make friends." I more mumbled than said.

"Sure you will just be yourself. Now come on lets go we're going to be late."

*skips to school*

I sighed as we pulled up to the school. Ever since the third grade school went from being fun to being my own living hell. That's what school is my own personal hell that i have to live with for 10 months out of the year.

"Alright sweetie I have to get going to work but I love you and have a good day." my mom said as i was getting my bag and getting out of the car.

"Okay mom I love you too have a good day." I said while while walking towards the door. When I got in I took my schedule out of my bag and started trying to find my first period class. While walking down the hall I heard a commotion coming from somewhere further up. I,being the curious person I am, decided to go check out what was going on. What i found surprised me. There was a circle of what looked to be jocks surrounding this one kid. From the looks of things they had him cornered. He was trying to get away but they kept pushing him back and harassing him.

I decided against my better judgement to step in and stop them.

"Hey!" I yelled at them "Leave him alone." They biggest one of them turned around to look at me.

"Scram fresh meat unless you want to get it too." he sneered back. I was afraid to get hurt, but I also know what it's like to be bullied so i couldn't just leave him there.

"I said leave him alone1" I yelled back, and even though i yelled it still came out wimpy.

"Aww look guys Payne's got himself a wittle girlfriend." The biggest one said while the rest of them just laughed. Right as he turned around, and by the looks of it he was about to punch the kid, the principal came around the corner.

"What's going on here?" She asked

"Nothing ma'am just on our way to class." One of the boys replied.

"Alright well get along then." She said and continued walking as the jocks stalked off to first period. Great just great first day of school and I have already ticked off by the looks of it six very big seniors. Then i suddenly remembered the boy, and I turned around to see him picking up his books off the floor.

Slowly i walked up to him. I'm not really a people person, but I just wanted to make sure he was ok.

"Hey are you ok?" I said as i bent down to pick up his last book off the floor. He looked up at me and the first thing i noticed were his warm brown eyes. When he saw me he smiled softly and stood up.

"Yeah I'm fine. Oh and thanks for sticking up for me nobody really does that." He said while his smile grew a bit bigger.

"It's know problem. I couldn't just leave you there." I said while returning his smile.

"So um whats your name?" He asked while I handed him his book.

"Alyssa. Alyssa Parker how about you? I heard them say something about Payne is that your name?" I asked him.

"Oh yeah that. No, well yes it's my last name. I'm Liam. Liam Payne it's nice to meet you Alyssa." He said while shaking my hand.

"Liam, I like it, it fits you." I say while smiling. Maybe, just maybe, this year wouldn't be that bad after all.
