Part 3

 Chapter three: The First Encounter

As we walked into the forest we discussed where we would find the kingdom first. " I was born in that part of the earth,'' Amy said. 15 minutes later we came to a bridge.

"Shh! I know this part of the forest. And this is the burning bridge", Amani said, " If we even make one noise when we're on the bridge we will burn up!" to demonstrate what Amani meant, Amy threw a stone at the bridge. It ended in a clang! A few seconds later, the bridge burned up.

"So what now, I say nervously. Then we reached a cave.

" Welcome to the kingdom of water", Cleo said. All of a sudden two underwater fire breathing dragons appeared.

" What are these doing here?'' Amy said with worry in my eyes.

"These are dark blades pets", I say.

"Run, and do not look back,'' Cleo says while unsheathing her sword from her belt. I stand my ground alongside her.

"We don't leave the team", I say, arming myself with a quiver and bow. On my right, I see Amy arm herself with an ax. On my left, I see Amani arm himself with a crossbow.

"Let's do this", Amy says. And we fight. I quickly shoot a bow on two of the wings of each dragon. Amani's crossbow knocked them to the floor. I clutched the sword from Amy and was going to finish them off when The twin dragons whimpered. I wasn't sure whether I needed to kill them or not, but the dragons pleaded. Since I was being reasonable, I stopped anyone from hitting the dragons.

"They're trying to tell me something", I say as we huddle. 2 minutes later we decide to hear them out. Then they told me that they never wanted to fight for the Dark blade, but they would get killed without him. I tell the other teammates. " Should we help them escape", I ask them. They all nodded. So I walk up to them. " We will be your family, but do you promise not to betray us to dark blade ", I say. They promised. So we used our only healing and shrinking potion on them. I put them in the bag and violet performed the mermaid and merman spell on us. We swam through the borders. It was a deep and aqua blue. We quickly swam to the palace. The doors were already open.

" Dark blade and his goons made it", Amy said pointing to one of the castle towers. Inside I could just about make out a young mermaid. She looked about 16. Dark blade had a dagger in his hand! I gave Cleo the bag.

" We have to stop him", I said swimming towards the castle door.

I swam up the tower current and shouted," Stop, this very second" while having my bow pointed to his head.

" Well if it isn't Daughter of earth, how did you get past my dragons' ', Dark blade uttered. I fired the shot. It missed by the length of his ear. It gave the young mermaid a minute to escape. I shrieked," warn Poseidon, god of the sea, Dark blade is free".

Lucky enough, she took the opportunity. While she had the opportunity, I did not. I quickly got captured by one of his water breathing cyclops. I tried to struggle free.

" Take her to the dungeon, while we find the location of the forge of hephaestus . ", Dark blade commanded.

And I was violently halted in the dungeon. The dungeon was dark and stormy. Evil water snakes wrapped around me like the purple vines in harry potter and the sorcerer's stone. "Come down, come down, suffer and share the fate of hundreds of people as big as armies, both old and young, come down and suffer the fate, come down", they said, almost convincing me to let go of life and follow them. I wanted to sink into the ground along with them. Any minute then, the magic would have worn off and they would drown me. Then I heard a voice as clear as glass. It was Cleo. 3 minutes later, I was rescued by my friends. I told them that this was the next item on the list.
