A/N

You may notice that I always use Author's POV in my last chapter. It will be the same too with his chapter. I find it more convenient for me to do this than individual POV.

I hope it's okay for all of you!

Here it goes

It's because I've been struggling to name another character. I thought first that I shouldn't give them names anymore, especially that this is just a short novel, but I always end up mentioning them so that I will name Gavin's parents and Dane's parents now

D's Mom - Clarisse
Ds Dad - Chris
G's Mom - Trina
G's Dad - Theo

AUTHOR POV

"What happened, doc! Why is my son like this! Why can't he remember about my son-in-law? He seems to remember who we are, his parent and himself, but why can't he remember anything about his husband? Is this possible to remember anything else but one aspect of his life?" Clarisse asks the doctor. She sounded so worried, so a Chris who is just standing beside her.

They are currently inside Dane's room, who is still so confused about what is happening in front of him. He doesn't have any idea of anything that happens to him.

A man is looking at him with so much love and concern for him, but he can't recognize who he is. This man keeps calling me Love, he keeps trying to touch him, but he doesn't know why and who is this man for him

"We are not sure too, Ma'am, but it seems that your son had suffered from selective amnesia, judging that he can only not remember anything that is regarding his husband. We will conduct a series of tests to confirm this diagnosis, but I think it is the case here." The doctor said to them.

"What selective amnesia? Is this permanent? When will my son remember everything again." Clarisse worried, asked the doctor again while looking at her son, then looked at the doctor again

"For that matter, we can't be sure when he will remember everything again, or if he remembers again, we can't know for sure. It is still one of the mysteries we are exploring regarding our brain. Only time will tell, maybe in a few hours, days, weeks, months, or even years. We really can't tell for sure." The doctor said to them.

"What? It can't be, doctor? What should we do? What should we do to help our son!" Clarisse worriedly asked the doctor

"Be there for him, support and show him that you are always there for him. Show him that this amnesia will not change who he is and your love for him. Don't pressure him to remember if I were you. All we can do now is to wait and support him. Families' love is always the best solution to any challenges. The patient may face." The doctor seriously said to them

Clarisse started to cry again and went near her son, then held his hand.

"We promise, Doc! We are going to be here for him! We will never leave him until he is okay! I promise you that!" Clarisse firmly said to the doctor while looking at her confused son.
