JUNE 7TH COULD only be described as the worst day of Athena Mikaelson's life. It was the 19th anniversary of Stevie's death. It burned to even breathe.
"Every year, she locks herself in that room and cries herself to sleep. Wakes back up, and repeats the process for the entire day. We've got to do something." Hope turned to the twins.
"Aunt Athena has been grieving for too long. We should find a way to cure that." Lizzie nodded.
"Glad to know we're all on the same page." The girls turned to the doorway of Hope's room, Judah leaning on the door. "I've been planning to bring back my mom for a while. I can't do it on my own because I'm not as experienced as Hope is. Her grandmother literally created a species. There's no one more qualified to help."
"Hope is the product of a soulmate bond, that makes her even more powerful." Josie turned to Lizzie.
"Okay, don't we need her body? It's been a long time, it's probably decayed by now." Hope replied.
"Mom was cremated. I have her ashes. All four of us can do it together so it won't take a hold on just Hope."
"I'm down if you're down, Josie." Lizzie looked to her sister.
"It's Aunt Athena, why wouldn't I be down?"
"When do we get started?" Hope looked to her cousin.
"Now." Judah beckoned them to follow.

IT WAS A rainy night. It was fitting considering how shitty Athena felt. Anger and rage at herself only built every year. Grief never left her.
It was then that her grief was replaced by annoyance. Someone was knocking on the door. "Everyone knows not to bother me." Athena's voice grumbled.
"Since I'm the reason you're crying, I'll let you win that." Athena would know that voice anywhere. It was recognizable in a sea of different ones. In the middle of rushing to the door, she knocked over everything over. Trying to grasp something to break break her fall, her socks made her slip. She recovered instantaneously and broke the door off the hinges as she laid eyes on her platonic soulmate. A long shrill scream left her mouth as she tackled Stevie to the ground.
