April 18, 2021 (Sunday Notes)
Christianity is Christ. It is believing and following Christ. He is the object of our faith and the essence, example, and end of our life.
Jesus is essential. Without Him, everything will fall into pieces.
For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.
- 1 Corinthians 2:2
Some people know about Jesus yet do not have a relationship with Him. And people who do not have a personal relationship with God and do not change their lives, are spiritually dead.
I give up all for Christ, and what have I found? Everything in Christ.
Follow Jesus not because for your sake but only for Him.
Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer, and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
- Hebrews 12:2
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
- Philippians 1:6
Abraham obeyed God's command to him which is sacrificing his only beloved son, Isaac, for his offering. However, God is the ultimate provider. Instead of sacrificing his son, he saw a sheep in front and serve it as an offering.
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

We open our physical eyes to receive the light, but the eyes of our mind remain shut unless our Lord opens them.
Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."
Martha answered, "I know he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day."
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus so that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Before we commit our life to Jesus, we were sinners. But our past does not define our future.
Lost sheep do not go looking for the shepherd. It is the shepherd who goes looking for the lost sheep.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
- 2 Corinthians 5:17
When I look at myself, I do not see how can I be saved. But when I look at Christ, I cannot see how can I be lost.
