You stepped on the land of East Silla with uncertainty in your eyes, with two bags hanging down your body you started to walk around the village which was in a shabby condition. As if the royals paid no attention to the area except the Palace. The people lived in horrible conditions as you clutched your bags close to you not wanting any thief to come and snatch them away from you.
Your eyes held sadness looking at the people, how the poor people were suffering from starvation and the young babies being born malnutritioned. Was it your weakness which was stopping you? Walking past them with a heavy heart, you looked for an inn. You were like a stranger to all of them and as the old man told you about the place, you were an open bait for everyone here.
"Somebody help!" You heard a voice scream as your head snapped towards that direction. Soon a crowd of people formed in that direction when your legs automatically made their way towards the direction. Passing through the crowd you saw a mother, holding onto her child while crying out loud.
"Somebody please help!" She cried out holding onto her weak son. Your medic instincts kicked in as you rushed to the dying boy's side and held his nerve.
"Who are you?" The lady asked while tears endlessly fell down her face.
"I am a medic." You said as her eyes widened while her hands instantly grabbed your hands.
"Please save my son, he is the only one I have!" She begged as you nodded, grabbing the poor boy's wrist feeling his pulse.
"He's still alive, we have to go to a room with a bed." You asked as the lady nodded quickly as the rest of the villagers helped in picking up the boy and bringing him to a hut.
Taking out your medical supply, which you were glad that you brought them. You started to treat the boy who's breathing kept on getting lower second by second.
Taking out the medicines from your bag, you started your treatment by crushing the antibiotics and making a drink for the boy to drink. You were scared yourself, will the boy handle the condition well? You did not know because the boy was so skinny that maybe the medicine won't work on him. After making the boy drink the medicine and placing a wet towel on his head to level down the fever you closed your eyes and prayed to the heaven's above. All you wanted was that it worked because you could not see anyone die in your hands.
Time passed by as the day turned into night. Everyone in the village including the mother of the child were sitting outside trying to have faith in a stranger. In the meantime you kept on changing the cloth kept on the forehead when you finally felt as if the boy's breathing became normal.
You felt as if you could breathe again when you sat down beside the boy on a stool. The boy coughed a bit and eventually opened his eyes. His eyes opened and met your eyes instantly making him jerk back.
"You don't have to be scared of me! I mean no harm to you!" You said and opened the door to the hut to call his mother who came in rushing and enveloped her child into a hug.
"Hyeok-ah are you okay?" The mother asked the child you instantly nodded smiling.
"Thank You so much, you don't know how much I owe you." The woman said and grabbed your hands.
"It's perfectly fine, it's my job to do so. Is anyone else suffering from any problem here?" You spoke up as a few of the hands rose up among the villagers standing outside as you called them one by one in the hut.

"You are such a kind soul, what brings you here to a place like the east of Silla." The lady asked. You were unsure whether you should tell the people about your real intentions here or not. You were not even sure if you could use your real name here.
