Chapter Thirty Four: Mixed Emotions and Wrong Ideas.
I was still walking back to the farm as I saw Jackson riding his horse towards me. When he got to my he was so hysterical he couldn't breathe. "Oh so this is funny to you," I asked. "Ye...ye..yes," he said, laughing. I gave him the bitch smirk and then slapped his horses ass so hard, it hurt me. The horse reared, threw Jackson off, and made him land on the hard ground. His horse galloped back towards the farm. As Jackson stood up rubbing his sore ass I said, "You know, I may not have lived here for many years, but I still remember how I would get my older brother thrown off his gelding." Jackson grumbled at me. "Now we both have to walk back," he said. "Exactly," I replied.
When we got back it was dark out. My grandparents saw us from the window and Gran came outside, looking frantic. As we walked up the porch steps my gran put her hands on my shoulders and led me inside. "My poor baby, let's get you cleaned up," she said. My Grandpa and Lance sat in the living room and Jackson walked in. "Let me guess, she slapped your horses ass after you made fun of her for something," Lance teased. "Nailed it," Jackson said. "He's just like her brothers," Grandpa said to Lance. They all shared a laugh, and some beers.
I showered while my gran brought me some clean clothes. After I got dressed and towel dried my wet hair, I met my gran in the kitchen. She gave me some warm soup and hot chocolate. "Thanks," I said as I took a sip of the warm beverage. "So now would you like to talk about life," she asked. I nodded. "How are you babies," she asked. "Good, Arielle and Paul. They're angels. Meadow, my step daughter, she watches them a lot," I replied. "And your relationship with your husband," she asked. "We're kind of taking a break. After the accident we were really close and went on a trip so he could clear his head. But now, he's living with his parents. I guess he just needed his mom to look after him for awhile," I replied. "Well you'll both be okay. If it doesn't work out I'll give you Jackson's phone number," my gran teased. I laughed. "Not like I'll need it Gran," I replied. We were interrupted by Jackson coming into the room and leading me out into the barn.
We were standing outside of Oreo's stall. "You found him," I asked. "They both came back," Jackson replied. I stroked Oreo's blaze. Jackson grabbed my shoulder and turned me to face him. I was confused. He started leaning in, and then he kissed me. AND I KISSED BACK?! I was so caught up in what I was doing I never heard the cab drive up, I never heard him step through the barn entrance, but I did hear him drop his suitcase. The flight from Santa Barbara must've been so exhausting, and now he was just shattered. When the suitcase hit the ground I stood facing him, he, Paul, my husband. He had just caught me kissing Jackson. Could things possibly get any worse?
I chased after Paul as he stormed back to the taxi. He put his suitcase in the trunk. "You're gone for one day and already find someone you love more than me," Paul screamed. I was shocked. Paul had never yelled at me like he was now. "Paul it was a mistake. Mixed emotions on his part. I didn't mean this I'm sorry," I cried. He opened the taxi door, but I slammed it shut. "Don't leave," I begged. "Why Brooke? Why shouldn't I leave," Paul asked. "Because you're always the one who leaves," I yelled. "That's because you're something to leave Brooke Smith," Paul replied. "Smith," I asked. "Why don't you just marry him," Paul replied. "You haven't been here for me Paul," I screamed. "You know what Brooke, finish your damn trip. Go to New York, do whatever the hell you want. I'm done, finished. This is it for me, no more. The worst part of my life is over, and now I'm starting a new chapter. Right now I just don't think I want you written in," Paul said, calmly this time. "Please," I cried. Paul got into the cab and shut the door. With that, he was gone.
I ran back into the barn where Lance and Jackson were talking. "You fucking asshole," I screamed. I slapped Jackson across the face. Lance grabbed me and pulled me back. "You fucking kissed me," I screamed, my voice going hoarse. "I didn't know you were married," Jackson replied. I showed him the ring on my finger, making sure to switch to my middle finger after I made the point. "My last name is Walker not Smith, dumb ass," I yelled. "Aren't spouse's supposed to forgive and forget," Jackson asked. "Yeah, we would if we weren't already having marital issues," I yelled. "Cool it," Lance suggested. "Fuck you Lance," I shouted. I stormed back to the house, past my grandparents, who wanted to know what happened, and up to my old bedroom. That's where I laid in bed, and cried myself to sleep.
My gran woke me up in the morning. "I heard what happened," she whispered. I pushed my hair away from my face and rubbed my dry eyes. "I can't believe that jerk would kiss me," I said. My grandma bit her lip. "I'm sorry sweetie," she said as she rubbed my arm. "I think I need to go home. I need to get to set and get this movie out of the way. Hopefully I can buy my old house back. Honestly Gran, this time I really messed up. The worst part, is it's the first time I messed up," I said. She sighed. "This trip was supposed to help," she replied. "Not make things worse," I said.
By the end of the day, I was back in Santa Barbara packing some of my things. Paul decided to move back home in the day that I was gone, which gave me the inspiration to leave. Meadow came into Paul and I's bedroom with a pile of my clothes from the laundry room. "Thanks," I said. She smiled and then sat next to me. "Do you really have to leave," she asked. "I think it's over between us," I replied, a tear slipping down my face. "Where are you going," Meadow asked. "I'm staying with Vin for a few days, and then I'll be hopefully buying back my old house," I replied. "You guys are getting a divorce," she asked, now crying. I nodded. "It doesn't look good Pete," I said. She hugged me and then helped me carry my things out to my car. "Are you going to say goodbye to Arielle and Jr," Meadow asked as she put my suitcase into the passenger seat. I shook my head. "They won't even know I'm gone," I replied. Meadow hugged me, and then I left.
I got to Vin's and went inside. He directed me to a guest bedroom in his large home. We now sat in the living room. I laid with my head on his shoulder. "I can't believe you guys are done," Vin said. "Me ether," I replied. My phone started ringing, it was Justin Lin, the director of Fast 7. I went to my bedroom and answered it. "Hi," I answered. "First we have to break because of your pregnancy, then the accident, and now brother and sister O'conners are getting divorced," he asked. "I guess so," I replied. "You and Paul better make this work so we can finish this movie. Work first, got it," Justin asked. "I'll be completely professional, as if I never met Paul," I replied. As if I never met Paul? How the hell was I going to do that?
A/N I was thinking of ending this soon because I got an idea for a sequel. It's up to you guys though. Let me know what you think. Feel free to message me. Xx
