Lily's POV

2 YEARS 6 MONTHS - 1980
April

I could hear Delaney complaining about something in the living room. She was two and a half and full of emotions. She screamed and I could hear something hit the wall. "Sirius!" I called out, waiting for his reply. A few seconds of silence went past and I got no reply. A sigh left my lips and grunted as I stood up from the kitchen table. The chair scrapped against the floor and I glanced down, placing my hand on my stomach. Pregnant, again. With James' baby. I was extremely happy, we both were. And so were the rest of the Order and the Marauders. Sirius is overjoyed, happy that Delaney was getting a sibling and extatic for James and I. I was 6 months along, we found out just after new year. We were in the early stages of preparing our home in Godrics Hollow for the baby but we had put it on hold for today.

Today was an exciting day, James and I were getting married today. I couldn't stop the massive grin that spread across my face as I thought about it. Delaney screamed again and I entered the living room. She sat in the middle of the room, books thrown in all different directions around her. She looked up at me as I entered and frowned, crossing her arms across her chest. She was still so sassy. It took a moment but I kneeled down in front of her. "What's wrong, baby?" I asked and reached for the book closest to her and picked it up. It was way below her reading level. Delaney was extremely smart. She sighed and uncrossed her arms, hunching over as she pouted. "All these books are boring, Mama." And that was another thing, she spoke better than any other two year old I had met. But she had been surrounded mostly by adults her whole life so it made sense. I chuckled as she pushed the books away once more. "We'll get you some new books soon, Bub. Let's just enjoy the wedding today."

Her face lit up at the mention of the wedding, a big smile spreading across her face. She was excited to be apart of it, she was to be our little flower girl. James would officially be her step-dad but she's set on calling him Uncle James still. James said she could call him whatever she wanted. I took a hold of Delaney's hand and we started heading up to her bedroom. I motioned for her to go ahead up to her room as we stopped on the first landing. I sighed, streching my back as she raced up, taking the steps one at a time. Curse us for giving her a room on the third floor. "Mama, hurry up!" My daughter called from the top of the stairs, peeking her head through the bannister. Shaking my head, I laughed and began back up the stairs to get her ready for the wedding.

"Lily!" I heard a voice call out in a sing-song way. I knew exactly who it was and called back, leaving Delaney to continue drawing her picture as I stood up from the kitchen table. Marlene entered the kitchen and Laney immedately rushed forward to hug her, squealing as she did. Marlene had become one of her favourite people in the last three months, conatantly asking when Aunty Marlene was going to visit and when she did, Delaney prefered to stay around Mar. "Hey little Padfoot. I like your dress, it's very pretty." Marlene said and picked her up, hugging her. Delaney was placed back on her feet and she rushed back to finish her picture.

Marlene turned her attention to me and nodded towards my baby bump. "Think you can fit that into your dress?" She laughed and I reached out to hit her, laughing as well. I placed my hand on my stomach and smiled. "Leave him alone." She laughed once more and we heard the front door open and Sirius stolled into the kitchen. He smiled at Marlene and I and made his way straight to our daughter and picked her up. "Hey pretty girl, we've gotta go to Uncle James' house now... Mama will join us soon." He walked over to us and I leant forward to kiss Delaney on the cheek. "Be good for dada... and please don't ruin your dress." Delaney nodded and waved at Marlene. She waved back and Sirius said bye to us and apparated out of the house. Marlene chuckled and turned to me. "That girl couldn't ruin her dress even if she actually tried." A little laugh slipped from my lips and I nodded; it was true. Delaney always kept her clothes spotless, even at 2 years old. It was something that always amazes me.

Marlene stood up from the kitchen table and held a hand out towards me. Grabbing a hold of her hand, she pulled me out of the seat and gestured towards the staircase. I groaned and whined about having to walk to the stairs again and she just laughed. Mar always found everything funny. "I promise we're only going to the second floor, I moved all the stuff we need into one of the rooms there." I sighed in relief and thanked her as she helped me up the stairs. Marlene opned up the bedroom door and I almost squealed at the sight of my dress. I was so excited. "Alright, let's get started."
