Lucus POV

Helping Jake with their luggage, Jasmine just passed me by like I didn't exist. I looked up at Jake and gave him a bewildered expression on my face, and he just shrugged it off.

"What's wrong with her?" Throwing my hands up in defeat, "So you also think I was wrong for telling her the possibility of being human? What's wrong with being human? So being human is an insult now?" Jake looked shocked and raised his eyebrow at me by my outburst as if he never expected such behavior from me, with a look that appears like his calculating the exert words he's supposed to use to not get me more worked up, then he said.

"two face is just going through a lot at the moment, being the only one from our pack at school who can't shift, she isolated herself from all wolves including me," he breathes out a small sign and patted my shoulder as if it would comfort me.

"But no dad, you did the right thing, just so that when you have"

he clears his throat and slightly changed his voice.

"The told you so speech with her"
widening his eyes and mocking me.

"things will be easier for you to talk to her"
As I was about to answer him, Christina comes and interrupts us.

"LUC could you bring the bags, I need to take a shower and there's no need for you to talk to Jake about Moana I talked with him already"

My hands rolled up into a fist, volunteering my nails to dig into my palms, closing my eyes, and arguing with my wolf to calm down, which has become my norm with dealing with her. "Fine, I am on my way..."

I gave Jake a manly slap on his back,"oh before I forget, son! Since we here, we might as well train as you know your grandfather has an annual tournament of the young wolves. I think this year you could win that cup." Jake screeches his neck, which is something he does when he's nervous... "I just need you to bear with me. Just because your grandfather is putting pressure on me lately doesn't mean training with me won't be fun and I would love to have you by my side."

Jake smiled at me with his brown eyes which are much smaller than Chris's and said "I wouldn't have it any other way, dad".

At that moment, it filled me with pride, and my wolf also gleamed with gratefulness. Then I made my way to my room.

The room was bleak. Nothing stood out to me. It had a bed with white covers, a window overlooking out the forest as the light shined on the small table with two matching chairs. I sat on the bed and ran my fingers through my hair.

I felt miserable and looked tired. I am just too tired for anything, as I muttered it out to myself. While I am deep in thought, I hear Christine's footsteps heading towards me, and she stands in front of me, tapping her left foot in an infuriating manner with a frown on her face.

"Lucas, can you at least try to understand Moanes situation?" I lifted my head and tilted it to the side, giving off a side-eye to her.

"Chris, she needs to know she has options. What sort of parents would that make us if we keep feeding into her delusions of being a wolf. You have the nerve to undermine my authority regarding my children how dare you!" I stood up and towered over her.

my voice ballows out of my chest as anger fueled every part of my body.

"MY PACK DOESN'T RESPECT ME, I HAVE TO BEG AND KISS THEIR FUCKEN ASSES AND It's ALL BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T LET THINGS BE!

As she was about to object, I stopped her by raising my hand, "don't"

while having an inner battle with myself to calm down, my body trembling in agitation.
