My first story update since October! 😁

I'm so sorry it took this long! Anyway, just like it says in the title of this chapter, Lets get started.

Laura's POV

The town has been very crazy lately. Without my dad, the army is uncontrolled, and people are freaking out about Eric's message. I can even feel people staring at me when I walk to the metro center.

Lynches & Laura: *Walking to metro center*

Others: *looks at Laura*

Ross: *Grabs Laura's hand* Hey, it'll be okay.

Everyone: * At the metro center*

Mr. Starr: Good morning. Sorry for the disturbance. we have called you all because we planned the day for General Marano's funeral.

Ross' POV

I see everyone is looking at Laura. I can feel her hand tighten as the silence grows.

Mr. Starr: It will be a week from today, next Sunday at noon. You are all invited to the funeral.

David: *Shouting* What are you going to do about Eric?

Mr. Worthy: I appreciate you concern but-

Maia: *Shouting* I mean, what will you do about Vanessa?

Mr. Worthy: She is not important.

Oh, no. He just made a big mistake. I knew once Laura let go of my hand and stood on the table, there was nothing I could do.

Laura: *Shouting* She's not important?! I have to wake up everyday wondering if she is still alive and you say she is not important! You were talking about my father's funeral and about honoring him, right? He would be honored if you save his daughter, who I guess is not important!

Ross: Laura . . .

Maia: *Stands on table* So much for safety!

Crowd: YEAH!

David: *Shouting* So much for caring!

Crowd: YEAH!

Ryland: * stand on table with Laura* Yeah?!

Crowd: YEAH! * Walking away* (Except Lynches and Laura)

Ross: Laura, what did you do?

Mr. Rodriguez: *points at Laura* You started this!

Laura: What?! I started this?! You and your bit-

Ross: *Picks her up* *Covers her mouth* *Interrupts* She's sorry. She didn't mean to cause all that ruckus.

Riker: Yeah, we'll be on our way.

Mr. Rodriguez: You should be. *Leaves*

Ross: *Lets go of Laura* What was that

Laura: I just . . . I don't know. Right when he said she wasn't important . . . he just . . . I don't know.

Ryland: You feel like all the pain you went through was for nothing.

Rydel: Wow, Ryland. You're pretty wise.

Ryland: Yeah, but mostly pretty.

Ross: Well, it isn't a waste. We'll find a way to get Vanessa back ourselves.

Rocky: Come on, guys. We should go.

Riker: Yeah, we told him we were leaving.

~ The Lynches House~

Riker: Hey Ross, I have to tell you something.

Rydel: Hey Laura, lets find something for you to wear to the funeral since you'll be wearing my clothes.

Laura: Yeah, sure. Talk to you later, Ross. *Kisses him* *Leaves*

Ross: What do you want to talk about?

Riker: Isn't it obvious? How are we going to save Vanessa? Any ideas?

Ross: How about?

~With Rydel and Laura~

Laura: You don't want to talk about outfits, do you?

Rydel, No, kind of. I actually want to talk about Raura!

Laura: *Laughing* What in the world is Raura?

Rydel: Laura and Ross put together.

Laura: Well, what's there to talk about?

Rydel: I know you guys haven't been cheery since what happened to your dad.

Laura: It's been good, I guess. Not too bad. It's been better. Anyway, how is * thinks* Rydellington?

Rydel: You're good at this! I haven't seen him in a while. I don't know.

???: *knocks* Hey girls! I don't care if you are in high school, you'll be in bed in an hour.

Rydel: Yeah, Yeah, mom.

Laura: Thanks, Stormie. I'm already getting tired. *yawns*

Stormie: I'll make some cookies to help you sleep.

Ryland: Did someone say cookie?

Rocky:What's the deal? It's not as churros or mac n cheese.

Mark: Yet we are still going to eat them.

Rydel: Why is everyone in my room?!

Everyone but Rydel and Laura: Fine! *Leaves*

Laura: *Laughs* Well, I'm going to take a shower. See you later! *Leaves*

Rydel: *Finds Ross and Riker* Hey. I'm guessing you guys figured out how and when to save Ness.

Ross: Yeah, we did. *Tells her plan*

Rydel: Okay, awesome! If anything goes wrong, when should Rocky, Ryland, Ell, and I go?

Riker: One hour after the funeral is great.

Ross: Just promise Laura is with you. She won't know this plan. Promise me.

Rydel: I promise.
