Neptune hadn't been kidding, earlier; she had to meet Uncle Remus for her 'Animagi Lessons' during her free period, but now she knew who had her bag (she didn't even want to think about what that meant), which meant she needed to return his bag. But she did not want to see him, let alone talk to him.

She eyed the bag on the table warily, packing up the really-not-her's cauldron. Double Potions with Snape was always tiring, but to face Fred Weasley after that? She was exhausted just thinking about it. Neptune drummed her fingers on the tabletop, waiting for Thomas so he could walk her to Remus's classroom. She slung her bag (yes, her bag) over her shoulders, comfortable with its familiar weight.

"Would you hurry up," she groaned, throwing her head back. "Patience is a virtue, woman," said Thomas, swatting her arm. "One I don't have," was her reply. Thomas just rolled his eyes and shouldered his own bag. He caught her eyeing the remaining bag with apprehension and picked that one up, too. "I'll bring it to Professor McGonagall," he said, and Neppie sighed in relief. "You really should tell her, you know; she could deal with this better than any of us."

Neppie shook her head. "Don't want her to worry," she said. "I already put enough stress on her shoulders; we are not bothering Aunt Minnie about this." Thomas pursed his lips. "Fine, you git. But those bloody redheads come at you again and I swear I'll fight them." Neptune raised an eyebrow. "Sure you will Tom," she said, slipping past him and patting his shoulder. "Sure you will."

"Oy, what's that supposed to mean!"

Neppie laughed and walked out of the classroom.

Thomas was tired of this shit. He was not amused. This year had been trying, and he was about ready to flip his lid. So far, he had been able to solve most of his problems with direct confrontation, and the incessant problem of Fred Weasley would be solved in the same manner. (Yes, he had said he would take the bag to McGonagall, but gifts were best given in person, weren't they? The same rule applies to threats.)
