Chapter 2

Tom's pov:

I wake up and
my feeling says: Today will be a good day.
I'm so tired because I just had six hours sleep but I think positive.
Oh shit.
Damn.
I forgot it again.
Today is mom's birthday and I forgot it. I'm a bad son. But I still can buy a gift for her.
There is this little shop. Only two minutes from here.
I'm on my way to the shop. I take out my phone and...BAM.
I bumped into a woman.
She says:,,Ugh! Can this day get any worse?!"
I have a good day but she doesn't seem to have a good day."

,,I'm very sorry!" I say.

,,Oh Yeah. You're sorry. Everybody is sorry today."

,,No. I'm really sorry! I want to make it up to you. I want to take you for a coffee. Please."

,,No you don't have to do that."

I don't have to but I want to because she seem to be sad.
She walks back but I turn her around and say:,,Please...You know what? I give you my number and when you change your mind you can call me, alright?"

,,Fine."

Wait...I don't even know her name.
I scream after her:,,Wait! What's your name? I'm Tom,Tom Harris and you?"

,,Y/N, Y/N Bennett."

Wow...Y/N.
Even from the distance she looks beautiful.

,,Cool. Nice to meet you." I say and go.

I'm so dumb today. That's the wrong direction. I still need a gift. But when I take the same direction as her she certainly thinks I stalk her or something.
I try not to attract attention and go after her. I am almost there. But then...she turn around and says:,,Are you following me right now?"
Oh fuck. I don't know what to say.

,,I...I..."

,,Just kidding. Hahaha."

Luckily.

,,Hey. Uhm...you haven't changed your mind, huh?"

While we're walking she says:,,Nope. If we would do that we end up with having our first kiss in two weeks and having Sex every second day..."

What would be so bad?

"and someday you would break up with me or cheating on me. Unless you're gay."

Woah. She's good... and funny.
I laugh and say:,, No I'm not."

,,That's a shame."

,,Why?"

,,Because."

,,But let's try."

,,Forget it.
Half an hour ago I saw my boyfriend cheating on me with my best friend. With my best friend. So I just can't date the next one."

,,Oh I didn't know that...I'm sorry."

,,It's not your fault."

,,But If you need a boyfriend again I'm here. And I can wait.

,,You don't need to wait. It won't happen.
...
Are you desperate?"

Oh man...Tom! You sound like a daredevil.

,,No..."

,,But why are you still talking to me?
Don't you have other things to do?"

,,That's why I take the same direction
you go. I need a gift for my mom. Today is her birthday."

,,Uhu...A last minute gift. Let me guess...you forgot her birthday."

,,Exactly."

,,Good luck with that." she says and goes.

I never really had luck in my love life. Actually only boys wanted to date me but of course I dumped them.
And in high school the girl I liked dumped me because of the popular football captain.
But maybe Y/N will be the right one and then we're getting married and get two kids or only one or three and getting old together.
She is very difficult. I mean her boyfriend cheated on her. With her best friend. I can imagine how she feels.

I go in the shop and look around. I see a pretty scarf. When I see it I think she would wear it. I go to the cash register and say:,,This and a bunch of flowers please"
The cashier is searching for something
under the cash register and says:,,Hello...a moment please."
She looks up and says:,,Tom?!"
It's Daphne. The girl who dumped me.

,,Daphne! Hey!"

,,After 10 years I see you again.
Still single?"

,,Unfortunately.
How are you?"

While I pay for my things she says:,,Yes...I'm fine.
Hey,uhm do you wanna come to my birthday party next weekend? There only gonna be fifty people and most of them were on our high school."

,,Yeah. I mean sure."

,,Great! I'll see you there."

I nod and go out.

I'm so happy I chose this scarf.

- Phone ringing -

Unknown number...
I accept the call.

,,Hello?" I say.

,,Hey. It's me...Y/N.

,,Oh hi!

,,Hi."

,,Hi."

,,I know it's late but the cinema is still open and I want to watch the new movie so bad."

,,Which movie?"

,,Hunters"

,,Sounds great. What's your address?

,,****"

,,Alright I'll pick up. I'm there in 5 minutes."

,,Bye."

That's cool. We're making progress.
