Chapter 23

It was finally the day of Yuki's birthday and party and Bickslow had made sure to invite Wendy and Carla, while also telling Erza the address. Looking over at the still sleeping raven-haired mage he couldn't help but smile. This would be the first birthday they got to celebrate since the coma, and since they had started dating. Quickly leaving the room he called Laxus to see what time he should bring Yuki to his house. "Bickslow, what's up man?" Said man raised a single eyebrow when he saw Lucy was walking in behind him. "Babe? What time are we expecting guests?"
       Laxus felt his eyes widen and Bickslow also felt his own eyes widen. "Babe??? Wait you two are dating?" That's when he saw Lucy's eyes widen. "Holy Shit you two are." Laxus sighed before smiling as he wrapped an arm around Lucy. "That we are. Got together a few weeks ago, please don't tell anyone. We aren't ready for the guild to know." He chuckled understanding exactly where the lightning dragon slayer was coming from. "No worries man, I won't say a word." He arched an eyebrow. "Even your babies won't?" "Nah man, they're downstairs still sleeping." That when Laxus realized where Bickslow was and grinned. "I see your at birthday girls house. Someone you wanna tell me?"
     Bickslow arched an eyebrow as he played dumb. "What ya on about boss man? I'm always at Yu's place." Laxus frown but watched as Lucy left the room muttering under her breath how she needed a shower. "I know that, but don't play dumb with me asshole. Are you dating my sister?" Now he blinked. "Why ya asking?" "Because it's 8 am and you're already over there, but from the looks of it, you slept there instead." Bickslow rolled his eyes. Laxus knew it wasn't unusual for him to sleep at Yuki's so why was he asking so much? "Seriously Bickslow, if you're dating her it's fine. With how close you two are and always have been in my opinion it's bound to have happened."
      Now the seith mage sighed. "We are man, but please don't tell anyone not even Lucy." Laxus blinked before smiling a bit. Well more like smirking. "Sure man, you'll come out about it when you two are ready. How long have y'all been dating?" He shrugged. "A bit before you and Lucy got together." Laxus blinked before laughing. "Damn man, I should have realized that." "Nah. Because Yuki and I never changed how we acted around each other." Laxus nodded in agreement. "Right, anyway go wake up sleeping beauty and I'll see you both at 12."
     The seith mage nodded before he put his lacrima away and walked back into Yuki's room. Smiling when he saw the way the sunlight was just started to dance across her skin, making her seem as if she was glowing.  Walking over he sat on the bed before he leaned over and carefully rubbed her shoulder. "Yu, baby come on it's time to wake up." Said woman groaned and without even opening her eyes did she reach up, grab his shoulder and yank him back down beside her as she curled into him. Bickslow blinked before he laughed. "Okay, I didn't see that coming. But baby come on, wake up. I'm gonna make you breakfast."
     The raven-haired woman slowly opened a single eye and groaned. "Bixie I'm tired." He smiled softly as he kissed the top of her head. "I know Yu. But it's time to wake up."" She groaned again but finally let him go in favor of stretching as she slowly sat up. Chuckling the seith mage leaned over and gave her a slowly lazy kiss, one she easily returned as her hands rested on his shoulders. "Mm morning Bixie." "Mhm morning Yu. Now what does birthday girl want for breakfast?"
      He watched as she blinked before her eyes widened in realization. "Holy shit it's my birthday." He blinked before laughing. "First one since your coma. But leave it to you to forget the most important day." She rolled her eyes but it lacked her usual sass. "Happy birthday Yuki." He smiled as she sheepishly rubbed her arm before smiling at him. "Now, breakfast?" He listened to the softness of her laugh before she finally answered. "Pancakes and bacon." He nodded before kissing her forehead. "Coming right up. By the way we're going to see Laxus and the others today."
     He watched the way she tilted her head before she nodded. "Alright, go cook, I'm gonna take a shower and get ready. Any specific time?" "Yeah, at noon." Yuki nodded and watched as he finally left the room before she gathered up her stuff and went to go shower.
     Bickslow was now in the kitchen and started to get the batter ready for the pancakes as he also pulled the bacon out of the fridge having had a feeling she would request it. Tilting his head he listened to the sounds of her footsteps before hearing the shower finally turn on. Moving over to the side he started off the pot off coffee before finally preheating his pans.
     20 minutes later he was finally setting up the table when Yuki finally walked into the dinning room. "Looks good Bix." He chuckled. "Glad you approve." Looking over he almost groaned at what she was wearing. A pair of black leggings, knee high combat boots, and a blood red crop top that said "Fuck it." Glancing down at her scars he noticed that for the first time she wasn't self conscious about them. "Damn Yu." She tilted her head allowing her long black hair to tilt ever so slightly over her eyes. "Yes?" "You look amazing." He watched the way a light blush covered her face before she shook her head. "Ah, thank you." he nodded as he took in the way even her guild mark showed with pride. "Now, come and eat so we can stop at my house and I can get ready. Then we're gonna go pick up Wendy and Carla."
     He watched her nod before the two finally sat down to eat. He couldn't wait to get to Laxus' house and finally, finally celebrate her birthday. Something that hasn't happened in so long was finally happening.
