Gael stayed fast asleep until around 3 AM, when he was shook awake, making the young fairy groan and sit up seeing his mother in a cloak,
"Mom? What are you doing? It's 3 in the morning" he grumbles out tiredly.
"Get up and get into this" she whispers and hands Gael a dark cloak. The young fairy looks at the cloak then just slips it on, not asking anymore questions even though his head was racing at a million miles an hour. Gael goes and follows his mother outside, seeing Etain getting shoved into a car with all of his stuff. Gael was confused about everything,
"Mom? What's going on?" he asked, confused. Penrose didn't respond, she just kept walking. He looks back and sees Finn and Blaze in the front seats of the car and smiles, waving towards them. Gael looks back forward and stays quiet the rest of the walk.
Once they got to where the ceremony was held, he saw some of the elders and he got nervous and stopped in his tracks.
"Sweetheart..come on before Etain realizes what's going on" she whispers and goes up to the elders with Gael.
Once they were in front of the elders, Gael tilted his head confused as he watched the older fairies go behind Gael. He tenses up when he felt their old, ancient hands carefully grab his wings. Penrose took a few steps back to give them space as she watched nervously as a bright light appeared where Gael's wings were, the young fairy shook and fell to his knees after a minute from the burning sensation spreading through his wings and soon his body making him cry out from pain. Gael would soon pass out falling limp on the floor with a gentle groan, Penrose rushed to her son's side and stayed there until the elders stopped and backed away when they were done. Penrose very carefully picked up her now unconscious son and held him close until he would wake up half an hour later. He looks up at his mother and smiles weakly
"i-is it done?" he asks softly. Penrose smiled and nodded
"Look at your wings. You look so handsome" She says quietly. The young fairy slowly sits up and looks at the new wings. The new wings were larger and had more sharper edges and less curvy, and were a mix of light purple and blue. Gael smiles brightly as tears of happiness filled his eyes,
"Th-they're perfect!" he smiles and hugs his mom tightly, seeing Blaze's car and he quickly gets up and rushes over to the car yelling,
"Look! Look at my wings!" he smiles brightly
Finn and Blaze quickly get out of the car and hug their grandson happily
"We're so happy for you!" Blaze laughs and keeps a tight hold of his husband and his grandson, being careful about the wings. Gael giggles happily and looks at the car, not seeing Etain anywhere
"Where's Etain?" He asks looking up at his grandfathers. Finn smiles and looks at Penrose,
"Your mother told us to get him away from here. She told him that if he can't support your choices then he needs to leave" Finn explains with a soft smile, "Well she told us to tell him that and to get him away from here" Finn laughs softly and holds the young fairy close,
"Now. Let's go get some ice cream okay?" Blaze smiles warmly as Penrose goes over to the three and joins in on the hug with a bright smile
"Ice cream sounds nice" she smiles and goes into the car with the other three, driving off to the 24/7 ice cream parlor. They all headed inside and got some ice cream and sat at one of the tables outside and started laughing and just having a good time together
